Private is a supporting character in the Madagascar franchise, and one of the four titular protagonists in The Penguins of Madagascar and its spin-off film of the same name.

Personality[]
Throughout the franchise, Private's personality is described him being sensitive, emotional, and happy of the group and rookie of the group, who is sometimes prone to accidents. Despite his personality being shy and emotional, Private is "sticky" and sometimes brave in really bad situations. Private doesn't seem to be concerned about the lemurs. He is gentle, loving, as well as caring to the extent that he was ready to take another shot in place of Skipper.
Private is extremely in love by his favorite foods: Peanut Butter Winky and Fish. Private seems to be overly-protective sometimes. In "Skorca!", Private has a sugar rush after eating his favorite caramel chocolate Butternut Winky. In "Mort Unbound," Private was shown to give life lessons and tell Mort that being buff and bad is not what life is. Private has an abnormal fear of badgers. Private is observant and loyal to the Penguins.

He is the shortest among the other penguins. In the films, he is cross-eyed.

Private, along with the other Penguins serve as the main characters and go on missions at the Zoo. In the episode A Visit From Uncle Nigel he is revealed to have an uncle called Nigel who works as a secret agent for MI6.
