No more rules! Sayonara mama and papa!
―Dr. Erwin Armstrong.

Dr. Erwin Armstrong is the main antagonist in the DreamWorks film, The Boss Baby: Family Business. He is the owner, founder, and principal of the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, a school that secretly teaches babies to act naughty. He was voiced by Jeff Goldblum.

Background[]

Erwin was the son of two unknown child psychologists who made him part of an experiment. When he was still a newborn, they exposed him to 10,000 hours of Mozart, various language lessons, and public radio. As time went on, Erwin began to discover that he was smarter than his parents, becoming tired of the way they were telling him what to do and bossing him around, and with his first steps, he ran away from home.

Fast forward to the present, Erwin is now the headmaster of the Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, a school for children of all ages that specializes in molding young minds so that they can help make the world a better place.

Personality[]

On the surface, Erwin has the appearance of a kind, enthusiastic, and eccentric man. He is incredibly smart as he was able to build robot suits, teach babies to type in code, and found an entire school by himself. He is also charismatic, great with children, and seems to be interested in molding young minds so that they become functioning members of society. However, it's later revealed that he only founded the school in order to teach kids that they can accomplish much more without the help of their parents. This leads him to be irrational, ill-tempered, and hateful to the point where he is willing to brainwash an entire theater full of parents just to stop them from getting in his way. He also seems to be delusional as he believes that parents are solely responsible for everything that's wrong with the world like pollution and wars. It's shown as well that he has an unhealthy obsession with sweets as he is constantly shown eating ice cream and candy and even eating sugar by the fistful. This is likely due to his childlike mind which showcases even though he has the intelligence of an adult, he is still just a baby.

Physical Appearance[]

Dr. Erwin is a fair skinned male that is short and appears to have sideburns. He is a baby disguised as an old man. He also wears comically oversized glasses that don't seem to actually have lens in them. He wears a fancy fuzzy white turtleneck with a brown coat on above. He wears grey patterned pants.

Trivia[]

  • Although the successor, Armstrong proved to be less evil than Francis E. Francis.
  • His turtle neck could be a reference to a character in The Boss Baby franchise, Turtleneck Superstar, who appears in The Boss Baby: Back in Business.
  • He might actually be based off of William James Sidis, a man whose parents were both doctors. And who raised him to become as smart as humanly possible. The same as Armstrong's parents.
  • His voice actor Jeff Goldblum previously worked with The Boss Baby's voice actor Alec Baldwin in the 2001 Warner Bros. film Cats & Dogs.
