"Fallen Hero" is the fourth episode of the fourth season of Static Shock. It first aired on February 7, 2004. It is a crossover with Justice League, though only John Stewart appears in it.
Plot[]
Static is distraught at the news of his hero, Green Lantern, going on a rampaging crime spree. When Green Lantern comes to Dakota, Static confronts him. Despite Lantern insisting it's a misunderstanding, Static dutifully helps put Green Lantern in jail, though it discourages him on a personal level, as he so looked up to the Emerald Knight. Static later discovers Green Lantern's power ring in his own pocket and goes to talk to the disgraced hero. Static realizes that the one on a rampage is actually Sinestro disguised as Green Lantern, using power absorbed from his stolen power battery. After Sinestro masqueraded as Green Lantern and fought Static, he left the powerless real Green Lantern behind to take the fall. Static teams up with his fallen hero and provides a power source for Green Lantern to recharge his ring. Together, the heroes take down Sinestro and expose him as the culprit. With Green Lantern's reputation preserved and Static's own faith restored in his hero, Static and Green Lantern salute each other as respected comrades and bid one another farewell.
Continuity[]
- Richie refers to "all that time we worked with him". This is likely a reference to the episode "A League of Their Own" when the young heroes worked with the Justice League.
- In the Justice League Unlimited episode "The Once and Future Thing Part Two: Time, Warped", John Stewart recognizes Static in an alternate future and mentions "the last time I saw you, you were too young to drive." The last time John saw Static was this episode.

- When Sinestro scans John for his Green Lantern ring in the police wagon, he finds out John does not have it (having left it with Static before). However, he still has the green luminescence in his eyes, which derives from his powers.
