Later, Batman and Flash go to investigate the mysterious appearance and sudden disappearance of the man dressed as the Phantom of the Opera and they learn that the man is in fact the spirit of a person who is seeking revenge of some kind by taking the souls of young girls.

Batman believes everything is part of a criminal plot of the Gotham Organized Crime, but Flash decides to use the Cosmic Treadmill to go to the past and investigate the background of any possible suspect.
