John Corben, also known as Metallo, found himself leading an army of mutants after a devastating nuclear war.
History
Unlike other supervillains, Metallo never turned over a new leaf after the holocaust wiped out human civilization. Damaged, he repaired himself and assembled a mutant army. This army was hostile to all attempts at peace from Champion, the community of former superheroes and supervillains simply wanting a harmonious existence. At some point, Metallo formed an alliance with Captain Marvel, leader of the conquest-aimed Marvel City.
Metallo helped Captain Marvel kill Diana of Themyscira, and joined his forces with Marvel City during the final battle with Champion's forces. Metallo, along with everybody else except Bruce Kent, died when Earth was entirely destroyed due to Captain Marvel's careless calling of his lightning.[1]
