Synopsis for "The Fountain of Youth"

Convict Roger Hall is about to be released from prison, but he is scheduled to stand trial for another crime which will put him away for a sizable portion of his remaining life. Hall fears that by the time he gets out he will be too old to enjoy any of the ill-gotten gains he has obtained. His cellmate then relates a story of a man named Christopher Moss who discovered a fountain of youth while exploring the rain forest of Peru. Moss was able to bring back a small supply of the youth water which he is willing to sell in individual portions for half a million dollars. He was even able to turn a wealthy millionaire into a robust young man. Upon hearing the story, Hall agrees to seek out Christopher Moss after he is released. He finds Moss and asks for a demonstration of the water. Moss then turns an old woman into a young beauty. Hall is convinced and he hurries to his hiding place to retrieve the stolen million dollars he has stashed away. He brings the money back to Moss and drinks the youth water but there is no change in his appearance. The police immediately show up to arrest Hall and they explain that the whole youth water story had been a scheme to recover the stolen money that Hall had hidden away. The old woman, the young beauty, the cellmate and Christopher Moss were actually undercover detectives that had worked together to convince Hall that the youth water story was true. Hall realizes that the was a fool to think that he would be able to wipe out all the mistakes in his life.
