Synopsis for "Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green"

Alan Scott calls his children Jade and Obsidian to Justice League Dark's secret headquarters under the Hall of Justice. The mystic heroes tell them that the Great Darkness is attacking the Multiverse because it has become corrupted. Todd, who has his own connection to the dark, instinctively knows that this is true. The heroes plan to approach the Darkness and investigate what has happened by travelling through Alan's ring, where its magic and his will can shield them, but they need Obsidian to introduce darkness into the ring. After some initial reluctance he agrees.

A team consisting of the two Swamp Things, Raven, John Constantine and Superman head into the Starheart, where they find a city of green energy breaking apart under the weight of the darkness. As Alec Holland is merely a presence in the Green he cannot manifest inside the ring, and Constantine mysteriously does not arrive with the others. Due to the instability of the world and the nature of its physics, they find that they can neither fly or teleport and need to proceed on foot. They spot a column of Darkness and try to reach it but find themselves going in circles as Alan Scott instinctively fights the influence of the Darkness, burning himself out and causing the world inside the ring to warp and change.

Jon and Levi turn on Raven as the darkness begins to infect their minds and bodies, accusing her of being corrupted by the darkness due to her demon heritage. She tells them the darkness is affecting all of them, but only she has the experience to recognise and resist it. She runs towards the tower and the others chase her in a rage. She manages to lead them to the column, guided by her attraction to the dark. When they reach it she uses her psychic powers to break the Darkness' spell over them and tells them they need to go on without her, as if she gets any closer she will be possessed fully by it. To resist the effects of the Darkness, the two of them fuse together into a single being.

Meanwhile, Constantine appears in a dark void and speaks directly to the Great Darkness, which takes the form of various villains. He assumes that the Darkness is behind everything and tells it that the heroes will defeat it like they have countless threats before; but the Darkness tells him that it only wants to watch reality, not destroy it, and that the Dark Crisis is not of its making.

Jade convinces her father to stop fighting the darkness and he passes out. The world inside the ring stabilises, allowing Superman and Swamp Thing to reach the centre of the Darkness where they find Pariah's Antimatter Chamber from the first Crisis. Constantine watches them with the Great Darkness and realises that Pariah, not the darkness, is responsible for what is happening. The Great Darkness banishes John back to Earth 0 and they all return to the Hall. John tells the others that Pariah has corrupted the Darkness, not the other way around.
