Synopsis for "Out of Africa"

Somewhere, the Yellow Aliens from whom Animal Man gained his powers are attempting to reconstruct his body after it unravelled. The fate of the universe appears to depend on their success.

With his body reconstructed and his powers returned to him, Animal Man wakes to find himself in Africa with Vixen.

Elsewhere, a shaman warns of death and destruction at the site of an excavation being run by Hamed Ali. He and his cohorts intend to use a giant laser to dig in the earth.

Animal Man and Vixen share a meal by a fire as she explains what happened after he unravelled. Strangely, the powers he absorbed from some apes earlier seem to make him sexually aroused by every move that Vixen makes. Fortunately, before he is overcome by these feelings, Hamed Ali's minion Tabu attacks and captures them. Animal man is shot with a drugged dart, and they are taken away.

Back in San Diego, buddy's wife Ellen Baker seems to have no knowledge of her children Cliff and Maxine. Suddenly, she begins to disappear from reality.

Hamed Ali has separated Vixen and Animal Man from the sources of their powers, promising that they will be killed at dawn. Buddy insists there must be something they can do to protect themselves, but at dawn, Tabu and Hamed Ali arrive before he and Vixen can form a plan.

Meanwhile, the aliens seem to be being negatively affected by the laser that Hamed Ali is using to excavate, and it seems that the universe is doomed.
