Italian director Francesca Pirani talks to us about her highly personal documentary Vakhim [+see also:

film profile], which follows the journey of a four-year-old boy who was adopted in Cambodia and arrived in Italy in 2008, the reunion with his sister, and the moving encounter with their mother in their homeland. The film has been presented in Venetian Nights, part of the 21st Giornate degli Autori of the Venice Film Festival.
