Shopify merchants will set a new standard for customer experiences, where users can interact with products virtually before purchase. Nearly 80 million daily active users doesn’t sound bad either.

    It’s official: Shopify is the first commerce integration partner on Roblox. This year we’re piloting integrating Shopify’s world-class Checkout into Roblox, with a larger launch coming in early 2025. Soon, you’ll be able to shop physical products like clothing, accessories and collectables designed by your favourite creators and brands, all within Roblox, powered by Shopify. This means that developers, creators, and brands who are on Shopify, can sell DIRECTLY within their Roblox games. My favourite part is this is a brand new path to entrepreneurship for Roblox creators and a new path for Shopify brands to engage and sell to a massive audience of nearly 80 million daily, highly-engaged Roblox users. Together, we’re shaping the future of immersive commerce. This is the next iteration of what retail shopping experiences look like; and it’s powered by Shopify and the best-converting checkout in the world.     AI seemingly exploded overnight, becoming integrated in everything we do. For small businesses, the power of a marketing team is now at their fingertips. Half (50%) of Shopify merchants plan to use AI to generate content, and nearly a quarter (23%) will use it to automate business processes. Here are three ways merchants are already saving time with Shopify Magic, our suite of AI-enabled features: 1️⃣ Classifying products automatically With our AI-suggested taxonomy, merchants can create new products and find their product category and attributes like “blue” or “medium” populated automatically. 2️⃣ Writing better product descriptions Using just a few keywords, merchants can generate product descriptions that are on-brand and SEO-friendly. 3️⃣ Providing real-time answers to customer questions Shopify Inbox can use a merchant's available store information to automatically generate suggested replies during conversations with customers.

    Shopify has its own esports team. Our founder and longtime esports fan, Tobias Lütke, announced the competitive gaming team in 2021 to connect with the growing community of entrepreneurial content creators in esports. Today, Shopify Rebellion competes in seven esports titles with eight teams: Dota 2, Halo, League of Legends, Rocket League, StarCraft II, Street Fighter, and VALORANT. Here are a few fun facts about Shopify Rebellion: Shopify Rebellion is a world championship-winning organization in VCT Game Changers, the women’s and marginalized genders circuit in competitive VALORANT. VALORANT is one of the top five most-streamed games on Twitch with over 200 million hours watched in the last 90 days. Shopify Rebellion has a 30,000 square foot headquarters in downtown Toronto, located within Shopify's office. The facility serves as a top-tier training ground for our team, with streaming rooms for broadcasting and dedicated content creation resources to help players build their personal brands. Stay tuned: Rebellion's second training ground is coming soon to Los Angeles. Last month, Shopify Rebellion partnered with actor Simu Liu to create a state-of-the-art gaming studio in his home. The seeds for this collaboration were planted two years ago when we first welcomed Simu, an avid gamer, to our Toronto headquarters, giving him full access to the gaming studio and embracing him as an honorary member of Rebellion.     Today is World Entrepreneurs’ Day. My team recently shared these stats on entrepreneurship with me: 1️⃣ Most people are dreaming of being an entrepreneur. 60% of adults around the world want to be their own boss 2️⃣ People are acting on their ambitions. 41% of Americans are aiming to start their own business by the end of 2025. If you look at that stat globally, it jumps to 57%. This is my favorite stat. More people trying their hand at entrepreneurship is my love language. 3️⃣ When people take the leap, they are thriving. In 2023, on average the new businesses on Shopify made their first sale 10.3% faster than they did 2 years before I say this all the time: there has never been a better time to start a business. We need more entrepreneurs. Lots of people dream about taking the leap. We need more people to jump. Act on that idea in the back of your head. Start that business. Do it today.
