As the college football campaign progresses, the race toward the 2025 NFL Draft becomes increasingly intriguing.

Week 3 provided a few standout performances, offering NFL organizations insight into how top prospects are developing in real time.

Players who entered the season with hype have begun to confirm preseason evaluations, while under-the-radar names are rapidly climbing draft boards.

It's the time of the year when breakout stars emerge, and Week 3 gave us no shortage of talking points.

Below, we'll dive into updated scouting notes on several key prospects. We'll also offer pro player comparisons beyond the simplistic height/weight/length similarities to give you an idea of how each prospect's tools and traits could translate to the next level, and we'll also name few other standouts from play around the country.

Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

Reminds me of: A twitchier Jalen Hurts

    Week 3 Stats: 12/17, 196 yards, 3 TDs // 13 carries, 76 yards, 2 TDs at Wisconsin

Impact Play: 31-yard TD pass to Ryan Williams on Alabama's second offensive series

Five total TDs headlined a big day for Jalen Milroe. In what was Alabama's first true road game above the Mason-Dixon Line since 2011 (Penn State), Wisconsin failed to match up against the high-powered offense of the Tide.

Like Jalen Hurts coming out of Oklahoma, Milroe isn't afraid to push the football to all three levels of a defense with the dynamic ability to expand a playbook with his legs. While Milroe's athletic profile and ability to create outside of structure are sensational to watch, his velocity and touch downfield represent parts of his game that have improved since last fall. Week by week he's improving under center, which will ultimately heighten his performance floor as a pocket passer on Sundays.

After a week off, Milroe, and Alabama's, biggest test of the campaign will come against No. 2 Georgia on Sept. 28.

Potential NFL Fits: New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins

Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

Reminds me of: Breece Hall with the physicality of Brian Robinson Jr.

Week 3 Stats: 25 Carries, 210 yards, 3 TDs vs. NC Central

Impact Play: 53-yd run on 3rd down

While Hampton's numbers against inferior competition won't hold weight for many, it's the ways in which he's continued to win this year that have him among the top RBs in the class.

A powerful yet elusive and agile ball-carrier, Hampton has rushed for over 120 yards in two of three games this fall with three TDs.

Like Hall, Hampton's explosiveness and ability to create both inside and outside the tackles is excellent. However, Hampton's physical approach to the position reminds me of Robinson out of Alabama because of his powerful build and hunger to gain every inch of yardage. There aren't many players in the country, regardless of position, that have a fundamentally stronger lower half than Hampton. He generates a high amount of force from his legs, which allows him to explode forward on each step.

Evolving as a consistent pass-catcher will help to elevate Hampton's projection as a future three-down back at the NFL level.

Potential NFL Fits: Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans

Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

    Reminds me of: Riq Woolen

Week 3 Stats: 4 catches allowed (nine targets), 1 INT returned for TD, 1 PBU vs. Appalachian State

Impact Play: Interception return for TD

It was just last year when we saw the Group of Five level produce one of the premier corners in the 2024 NFL Draft. While Shavon Revel Jr. won't be the first corner to hear his name called in 2025 like Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo) was last spring, get familiar with Revel's name as a small-school product.

A long and instinctive aerial stalwart, the former JUCO transfer (Louisburg College) is looking to become the first ECU Pirate to be selected in the first round since RB Chris Johnson back in 2008.

In coverage, Revel uses his length extremely well to disrupt timing at a variety of depths, he's patient in his backpedal and is constantly playing on his toes. Like Woolen out of UTSA a few years back, Revel is excellent at fighting through through the hands of wideouts and has the playmaking ability to take it the other way. His 12 PBUs in 2023 ranked top-10 among all FBS corners.

Potential NFL Fits: Washington Commanders, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts

Walter Nolen III, IDL, Ole Miss

Reminds me of: Agility of Keeanu Benton with the explosiveness of Daron Payne

Week 3 Stats: 5 pressures, 4 hurries, 4 tackles at Wake Forest

Consistency will remain the name of the game with Walter Nolen. When he's on, he has the traits of an interior defender who can ravage a game plan. Then there are times when he disappears.

Against Wake Forest, it was much of the former for Nolen, a former 5-star prospect who is in his first season at Ole Miss (Texas A&M transfer). In what was arguably the top performance of the week among all draft-eligible interior defensive linemen, Nolen had multiple reps of dominance both in countering the run and working vertical on passing downs.

Similar to Benton out of Wisconsin, Nolen's ability to slide, shuffle and pursue allows him to make plays up and down the line of scrimmage. Regarding Payne, a first-rounder of the Commanders in 2018, Nolen's spring-loaded hands and get-off showcase traits that usually associate themselves with a man 20-30 pounds lighter.

Nolen's projection will remain fluid as the year progresses because of his inconsistencies, but his performance ceiling remains as lofty as any defender in the class.

Potential NFL Fits: Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans

Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

5 of 6

TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA - AUGUST 31: Jihaad Campbell #11 of the Alabama Crimson Tide lines up during the first-half against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Bryant-Denny Stadium on August 31, 2024 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. (Photo by Brandon Sumrall/Getty Images)
    Brandon Sumrall/Getty Images

Reminds me of: Shades of Baron Browning with excellent instincts in coverage

Week 3 Stats: 9 tackles, 2 catches allowed (3 targets) at Wisconsin

It's been just three weeks, but Jihaad Campbell has quickly elevated himself into the conversation among the premier off-ball linebackers in the class. He's the glue that keeps everything together for Alabama, and he touts the traits that should translate to the next level.

As well as he does downhill—trusting his eyes to put him in ideal spots—Campbell's hips and fluidity in coverage raise his prospect profile. Like Browning, Campbell's ability to make plays on all three downs showcases a highly intriguing defender in the middle of a defense. He's amassed 27 tackles through three weeks, with his biggest test upcoming against the Georgia Bulldogs after the bye week.

The spotlight will only continue to brighten around Campbell as the leader of the Crimson Tide front seven.

Potential NFL Fits: Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals

Nate Noel, RB, Missouri: 22 carries, 121 yards (5.5 YPC) vs. No. 24 Boston College
