Hordika Venom was a type of toxin used by the Visorak. They usually injected it into their victims using small barbs lined in web cocoons. The venom could have one of two effects on its victims; it either sent them into endless sleep, or horribly mutated them into a Hordika. The mutations often made the victim very monstrous in appearance and turned their minds feral and vicious. Keetongu is the only known being in the Matoran Universe to know how to cure Hordika Venom. Toa and other sentient beings who became infected with Hordika Venom needed to keep their tempers in check. If they did not, the transformation would accelerate until they were reduced to being unable to speak and being little more than vicious, snarling beasts.
