- The young baker Betty Hunter is very happy, but she's dreaming of a knight. So she believes that Johnny Payne, the car pilot she met in an accident is the right man for her.
- Chef Simon Parsley's moves are cruelly ignored by his childhood buddy and taste pairing muse Betty Hunter, who passionately runs her small but innovative bakery and believes her horoscope promising a romantic match comes true when she's run off the road and messes up a whole delivery load to Simon's by a sports-car driven by a real charmer. She ignores it's Marc Combe, a fraudster who hopes to pay his debts by posing as star race car driver Johnny Lexington, the real one having ignored an invitation to an old-timer rally organized by Simon's father Richard Parcely, who wants Lexington to patronize his charitable foundation for the Cornish environment. Betty hopes to win Johnny by losing weight, a hopeless cause despite Simon's jocular suggestion, the Hollywood pineapple diet, thermo-suit, gym and vibration device. Only drunk Betty wakes up in happy Simon's bed, only to call it a one off mistake and volunteer helping Richard organize his rally. Simon dares not hope for consolation is his restaurant, feeling hopelessly unprepared for a visit from the national gastronomy star whose successor he hopes to be chosen as, yet his devoted staff and Bettys original ideas saves the day while drunk-driving Richard requires his assistance, crashing a car that very day. The impostor is found out and everyone must face reality.—KGF Vissers
