This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disney is celebrating accordingly with a salute to 28 of their Classic Shorts, including one familiar to horror fans: “The Skeleton Dance.”
The Walt Disney Company announced today in a press release that Disney+ will begin debuting a collection of 28 newly restored Walt Disney Animation Studios classic shorts starting on Friday, July 7 and will run through October.
While the curated package of shorts highlight a variety of popular Disney characters throughout the century, it’s the restoration of 1929’s “The Skeleton Dance” that’s most notable.
The Silly Symphonies short, directed by Walt Disney, featured four skeletons dancing under the full moon in a graveyard, a perfect Gothic mood setter that showcased a different side to Disney. We’re always a sucker for stunning gateway horror, especially of the macabre variety.

When the cat's away, the mice will play. And when the human's away, the Dachshund will get a massage from the electric mixer, the bird will mess with the remote, and the Poodle will turn off the classical music and headbang to death metal. Yes, pet parents, you suspected as much, and "The Secret Life of Pets" is putting it on screen in a new 3D computer animated feature.
Check out the first official teaser trailer:
Don't even get us started on that cat eating all of the food in the fridge -- they are always the ones to blame when the cake is gone! It's definitely not us...
"The Secret Life of Pets" takes place in a Manhattan apartment building, following terrier Max (voiced by Louis C.K.) whose life is turned upside-down when his owner brings hope a sloppy mongrel named Duke (Eric Stonestreet). But they must bond when...

When the cat's away ... his son will throw a Massive house party -- at least that's what happened to Timothy Dalton -- and the whole backyard bash in Hollywood was shut down by cops. Law enforcement sources tell us they were dispatched around 10:30 Pm Saturday after neighbors complained about the massive group -- 300 strong -- waiting outside a party thrown by 17 year-old Alexander Dalton -- whose mom is no stranger to ragers ... Oksana Grigorieva.

When the cat's away, the mice will play. Likewise, when the dog's home alone, he'll jump on the bed while the cat watches. After forbidding the dog from going on the bed, an owner installed a camera in the room to see what really goes down when no one's keeping tabs on the pets. That means it's all caught on camera (watch above): With no human interference in the way, the cat politely looks on as the dog stages a full-on rebellion, ceremoniously jumping onto the bed with a joy we thought was reserved for bacon and the mailman.
