Exploring Life, Happiness and Tragedy
10 February 2007
"Snivaj, zlato moje" ("Sleep, Sleep, My Darling") is a tale that shows a bittersweet coming of age of our main character, Tomica Skrinjar. Starting at the tail end of World War II in 1945, the film explores nearly a decade of a life in working class Zagreb and covers a various spectrum of emotions ranging from tragedy and happiness with various bits of quirky humor interjected throughout the length of the film.

The film is presented using little cinematic effect; instead, the focus of the audience is encouraged to lay upon character interactions and dialogue. The plot of the movie is more centered around life, as it happens, for the characters of the movie. "Snivaj, zlato moje" is a nice escape from thematic, overly cast cinema, and is a capturing drama.
