Michael Briskett (Steven Hubbell) awakens in a dark room with plastic sheets covered in blood hung behind him. It’s imagery you’ve seen countless times in horror films—butcher accoutrement readied for torture porn carnage. But writer/director Ryan Nelson (alongside Beth Levy Nelson as co-writer) is only giving us a tease of what’s to come before rewinding two days to show the unfortunate circumstances that led poor Michael to an unknown basement decorated for Christmas. First we have to meet his douchebag boss Andy Robillard (Cole Gleason) as he assigns an impossible task during the holiday season. Then it’s the office’s latest hire Cindy (Casey O’Keefe), too perky and idealistic for the soul-crushing grind cubicle life provides. The former risks ruining Michael’s yuletide buzz, the latter saving it.
Mercy Christmas initially appears as though it will be full of saccharine hokum with nice...

Sam Smith's highly-anticipated James Bond theme 'Writing's on the Wall' received its world premiere this morning (September 25), and as with all themes scored for the iconic franchise, it got its fair share of love and hate.
Twitter reacted as Smith's emotional lyrics played out over a traditional Bond-style orchestra of strings, but not everybody was impressed.
Sam Smith's Bond theme first listen review: Spectre track is too emotional for 007
22 best and worst Bond theme songs ranked: Every single's here, but which are classics and which need their 00 status revoked?
Dear Sam Mendes, you still have a month. @LanaDelRey popped her phone number on her latest album, for the love of #Bond, please ring it.
— Matt Bone (@BoneyAbroad) September 25, 2015
It took Sam Smith 20 mins to write the new #Bond theme for #Spectre?
It shows.

The Great British Bake Off was all about the Patisserie tonight (September 23) and - while the goodies made our mouths water - we couldn't stop giggling.
As ever, Digital Spy was keeping an eye out on Twitter to bring you all the best bites:
1. The cream-filled horns that "needed to be filled all the way through" nearly broke Twitter:
Tamal talking about his cream horns got us like... #Gbbo @BritishBakeOff pic.twitter.com/uyqL6lzGFm

I made 24 cream horns once. Ok, I mean only made 1. Ok, I mean I got really horny eating a cake once. #Gbbo

Intern: Maybe they could make Eccles cakes.
Exec: What?! Where's the innuendo in that?
I: Um, rough puff cream horns?
E: More like it.

Great British Bake Off: Paul's rising baguette and a breadcycle get Twitter talking about Bread Week
Great British Bake Off really hit its stride during Bread Week this evening (August 19) and Twitter could barely contain its excitement during the show.
There was some baguette-based banter on display and Paul produced one of the greatest showstoppers ever seen on the programme.

Ouch.
How's this for a cringe-worthy red carpet moment?
The legendary Jessica Lange wasn't exactly in the friendliest mood on the American Horror Story: Freak Show red carpet Sunday night in Los Angeles, when she completely ignored Lea Michele on the red carpet.
... And it was all caught on tape.
News: George Strait Leaves Miranda Lambert Hanging at the ACMs
As Lea poses hard in her low-cut, high-slit Cushnie et Ochs dress, her face lights up as Jessica approaches -- only the Oscar-winning actress doesn't stop, and doesn't even acknowledge her presence.
Jessica Lange blanking Lea Michele on the red carpet has pretty much made my year. http://t.co/Uys2OMOjGV
— Ryan Nelson (@RyanJohnNelson) October 7, 2014
Though you have to admit, Lea recovered pretty quickly to the serious shade!
Check out the full video below.
… Though if you think about it, some might consider it an honor to be ignored by Jessica Lange on the red carpet...

According to Goal.com, Queens Park Rangers are preparing to sign veteran Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas on a free transfer.
Qpr boss Mark Hughes has already acquired 34-year-old Ryan Nelson on a free transfer from Spurs and the club are now trying to complete the deal of his former teammate Gallas, also 34.
New Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas will allow Gallas, who is on a £60,000-a-week contract, to leave White Hart Lane on a free after Tottenham completed the deal of Belgian giant Jan Vertonghen and also have Sebastian Bassong and Steven Caulker returning from their loan spells away. Speculation is Caulker will receive more game time next season and he has jumped ahead of the high-earning Gallas and the new Tottenham boss would prefer not to have such an expensive salary drainer on the bench.

Blackburn Rovers entertain Newcastle United at Ewood Park for the second time this season in tonight’s 8pm Premier League encounter. Blackburn needed extra time to defeat Newcastle in the League Cup earlier in the season but did lose without showing as much as a whimper in the league game at St. James’s Park.
Despite still being in the relegation zone, Blackburn are on something of a good run of form with seven points gained in their last 12. Newcastle are coming off the backs of two straight away defeats to Fulham and Brighton.
Team News
Blackburn midfielder David Dunn should return to the squad after recovering from a hip injury but Steve Keen will be ruing the loss of striker Yakubu. New transfer deadline day signings Marcus Olsson (twin brother of Martin) and former Newcastle youngster Bradley Orr were not registered in time to play.

The Dallas International Film Festival is less than two weeks from starting and some of the premiering films are gearing up for their big coming out parties. One of these films that has me interested is Mangus! Mangus! comes to us from writer/director Ash Christian of Paris, Texas. Christian has managed to attract some very interesting talent to the project, at least from my perspective, with starring roles for Jennifer Coolidge (all of those great Christopher Guest mockumentaries), relative newcomer Ryan Nelson Boggus, and Heather Matarazzo (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Saved, The Adventures of Pete and Pete), along with a cameo role for my idol, John Waters, as Jesus Christ. All four will be in attendance for the premiere in Dallas. I'm excited about...
