Although Goonies never say die, there are few other words to describe the hopes for a potential sequel.
Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton, who starred together in Steven Spielberg‘s The Goonies (1985), recently responded to reports that a sequel to the beloved movie is in the works with the original cast expected to return.
“2’Sday, Is #GOONIES2 Real?! EVERY1 Is Asking…I Can Officially Tell U 100% No! I Hav No Info That A Sequel Is In The Worx,” wrote Feldman on X, promoting the long-awaited premiere of his 2004 film The Birthday.
Plimpton also shot down the news while using the opportunity to engage fans in their civic duty. “People, there is no Goonies 2 script, there is no one ‘attached,’ Spielberg is not directing, it’s not real,” she shared in a post on Instagram. “What Is real is Check Your Registration And Vote!!!!”

Clint Eastwood may not hold the youthful charm he once did in the 1950s or be the leading star of Spaghetti Westerns, but the Eastwood name can never be replaced as long as Hollywood stands. The movie star and cowboy actor of the century transitioned perfectly from the old talkies to the 21st-century Oscar-winner Million Dollar Baby without breaking a sweat.

Reagan is a sweeping new biopic that tells the story of the late President Ronald Reagan in its entirety. Set to be released in U.S. theaters on August 30, it stars Dennis Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller, Robert Davi, Lesley-Anne Down, and Jon Voight.
Earlier this month, we got to sit down for a second time with Voight (you can check out our previous interview here) to learn how he approached the role of Viktor Petrovich Ivanov, a former Kgb agent who plays a major role in this new biopic.
During our conversation, the legendary Hollywood star broke down his approach to playing the real-life figure, sharing some fascinating insights into how he physically transformed into the Russian.
We also hear from Voight on the challenges of bringing Reagan to the big screen, including the difficulties presented by shooting the movie when the Covid-19 pandemic regularly forced productions to shut down.

Action Jackson (1988), directed by Craig R. Baxley, stands as a remarkable fusion of the blaxploitation genre’s legacy and the dynamic, explosive nature of 1980s action cinema. While it may not reach the iconic status of blaxploitation classics like Shaft or Super Fly, Action Jackson offers a distinctive experience that both honours its roots and embraces contemporary action movie tropes.
The film centres on Jericho “Action” Jackson (Carl Weathers), a Detroit police sergeant demoted due to his overzealous tactics. Jackson finds himself embroiled in a plot masterminded by industrial magnate Peter Dellaplane (Craig T. Nelson), who aims to seize control of a powerful union. Secret agents going rogue is such a common trope that sometimes we wish that people like Ethan Hunt or Jason Bourne would just follow their orders for change. When Daniel Craig started playing James Bond in 2006, it seemed like Bond went rogue on nearly every single mission, including most of Quantum of Solace, at least half of Skyfall, and basically, the first two-thirds of No Time To Die. Pierce Brosnan’s Bond went rogue in Die Another Day, too, with a full beard and no shirt, declaring “I’m checking out” from a hospital. And of course, Connery’s Bond was on an unsanctioned revenge mission at the start of Diamonds Are Forever.
But the most compelling Bond-goes-rogue movie of them all to this day remains Licence to Kill, which in 1989, would become the unintended swan song from Timothy Dalton’s fierce take on the character.

"There's nothing a retired governor can do about the Soviets..." ShowBiz Direct has revealed a trailer for a movie called Reagan, a brand new biopic about the 40th President of the United States of America. This will open in theaters at the end of August this summer. Actor Dennis Quaid stars as Ron, who worked as an actor before getting into politics. "I've always been told bits and pieces of the stories of Ronald Reagan's life, but this movie puts the whole story together. I've played quite a few real people over the years, and I like to play them from their point of view, without judgment. It was a big challenge for me to get behind the public persona of the man and also to move beyond my own feelings of admiration for him." Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the film was shot in Oklahoma...

ShowBiz Direct has released the first trailer for Reagan, the biopic starring Dennis Quaid as Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the United States. If it feels like we’ve been hearing about this one for a while, it’s because we have; Reagan actually wrapped production almost four years ago.
The film follows Ronald Reagan from “his humble beginnings to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and finally on to his biggest role as Commander in Chief set on the world stage… Told through the voice of Viktor Petrovich, a former Kgb agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first catches the Soviets’ attention as an actor in Hollywood, this film offers a perspective as unique as it is captivating.“
In addition to Dennis Quaid, Reagan stars Penelope Anne Miller as Nancy Reagan, Jon Voight as Viktor Petrovich, Mena Suvari as Jane Wyman, Kevin Dillon as Jack L. Warner,...

Arnold Schwarzenegger made a whole slew of classic 80s action movies. Still, one remains totally obscure despite being released smack dab in the middle of his amazing The Terminator to Predator run of movies from 1984-87. That film in 1986’s Raw Deal. A formulaic 80s action flick, it’s the most modestly mounted Schwarzenegger action epic of the era, with Arnie coerced into starring in it to complete a long-standing contract he had with producer Dino De Laurentiis following Conan The Barbarian.
In it, Schwarzenegger is somewhat unconvincingly cast as a small-town sheriff named Kaminski, who used to be an FBI agent but was forced out of the bureau after roughing up a suspect. He’s recruited by his old mentor (The Night Stalker’s legendary Darren McGavin) whose son was killed by the Chicago mob. He wants Kaminski to go undercover in the mob and tear them apart from the inside.

It’s been 36 years since Die Hard hit the theatres and became a memorable action movie that still remains relatable in the entertainment industry. Providing a watershed genre moment, while building up the careers of Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman, Die Hard also featured often forgotten actors like Robert Davi.
Arnold Schwarzenegger | image: The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
Playing the character of badass FBI Special Agent “Big” Johnson, Robert Davi offered a memorable performance despite being a lesser-known scene-stealer. But while his character initially starts by saving the day, he gradually becomes dumber and dumber in the film. This character deterioration was something that disappointed Davi’s close friend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, during the film screening.

Being an international super spy comes with its share of drawbacks, which apparently include upsetting censors around the world. While James Bond has faced numerous censorship struggles throughout his more than 60-year on-screen run, he's often had a particular issue in his home country. For example, the original ending of 1971's "Diamonds Are Forever" was a little too S&m for the British censors, and was initially supposed to depict Jill St. John's Tiffany Case being tied to a bed by the charmingly bizarre Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd (Bruce Glover and Putter Smith respectively). That was very quickly nixed by UK censors who felt it was a little too kinky even for Bond.
But kink was less of a concern for the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) than violence. In a 2006 interview with Caped Wonder, "Diamonds" writer Tom Mankiewicz explained how "largely, the Brits cared a great...

Though raised in Brooklyn, actor turned producer/director Danny A. Abeckaser was born in Israel. Unfortunately, that birthright isn’t enough to lend authenticity to “The Engineer,” which feels very much like an American B-movie stab at turning Israeli anti-terrorist operations of 30 years ago into formulaic action fodder — without much action, even. A miscast Emile Hirsch plays a Shin Bet agent tasked with hunting down the mastermind behind a series of suicide bombings. Arriving at yet another low ebb in Israeli international relations over Palestinian issues, this frequently unconvincing and clunky would-be thriller will have a hard time stirring much enthusiasm in most territories. Lionsgate is releasing to limited U.S. theaters and home formats on August 18.
It begins, with a burst of explanatory onscreen text, in the fall of 1993, as Israeli Prime Minister Rabin and Plo leader Yasser Arafat were in Washington D.C. attempting to broker peace under the auspices of President Clinton.

On today’s The Arrow In The Head Show, Lance Vlcek and John “The Arrow” Fallon take on the little seen yet highly entertaining Raw Deal (1986) starring the inimitable Arnold Schwarzenegger at his smug best. After Conan, The Terminator, Red Sonja and Commando – Arnie took on a very different kind of role at this point in his career and showcased glimpses of the charm and gravitas that he would eventually fully display in films like True Lies and Kindergarden Cop.

Denise Richards has played plenty of trophy wives, both fictional and semi-fictional, but her latest role as the ex-spouse of a high-rolling crypto fraudster in upcoming series “Paper Empire” gave Richards the opportunity to do “something very fun and challenging and very different,” she says.
The show, which premiered at MipTV in Cannes last week, tells the story of financier Laurence Fintch (played by Robert Davi) who finds himself in jail after carrying out a multi-million-dollar cryptocurrency fraud. Fintch has no plans to stay in jail, regardless of what the FBI think, and soon hatches a daring plan to break out. "This movie could never be made today" is an increasingly familiar refrain in our fractious times. As our society grows more diverse, and we reckon with the racism and sexism of less enlightened eras, some crotchety members of the old guard have a tendency to throw up their hands and lament that an assortment of classic films with perceived problematic content would never make it past development in modern Hollywood.
In certain, screamingly obvious cases, this is a very good thing. D.W. Griffith's "The Birth of a Nation," a virulently racist movie that celebrates the Ku Klux Klan's heroic lynching of a freed slave would be a one-way ticket to infamy (or a three-picture deal with The Daily Wire). The mere notion of Walt Disney's "Song of the South" would probably result in the creator being ousted from his own company (and maybe offered a gig as the chief...

After creating so many cinematic memories on the big screen, the James Bond franchise is celebrating its 60th anniversary. While news of what comes next for the saga is pretty thin at the moment, there is one certainty about what’s in store: The next James Bond will boast some intriguing, fun, and altogether dangerous gadgets.
It’s become a staple of the series, with the genre as a whole looking to the James Bond movies for inspiration when crafting their own equipment. While the likes of the Kingsman and Johnny English series might have taken some of the gadgets a step further into comedic territory, the devices that 007 uses throughout his adventures can often be grounded in a hyper-reality that pulls from real-world technology but are defined by an imaginative edge. These designs were memorable for their uses in the field and how cool they truly are as a concept.

Can a person ever really be “cancelled”? I used to think not. Supposedly radioactive celebrities still manage to land lucrative Netflix specials, sell out stadiums, and win illustrious awards. But what happens when they don’t? You end up with a film like My Son Hunter.
The political satire, released today online, focuses on Hunter Biden, the son of the sitting US president. It stars Laurence Fox as Hunter, John James as Joe Biden, and Gina Carano as the narrator, a secret service agent invented for the purposes of the film. Fox, an actor whose early films include Robert Altman’s Gosford Park and Shekhar Kapur’s Elizabeth: The Golden Age, has become a self-professed “cancelled” person in recent years, thanks to widely criticised remarks on issues such as Covid-19, Black Lives Matter, and trans rights. Carano, a former wrestler, is also said to have been “cancelled”; her recurring stint...
