I was definitely reading this for Graves rather than Wren, something about her character just annoyed me a little bit? This was a great read, but at times the plot definitely slowed down - again, I think I just fell for the broody, dark, mysterious Graves. A couple of elements were thrown into the book that I don’t think needed to be, and made the fantasy plot feel a lot more complicated and hard to follow. But overall, this was super fun and although the ending was not what I wanted and a little disappointing I’ll definitely be reading the next book....more

Here I was thinking I still slightly preferred the coldness and more gothic vibes of book one, BUT THEN YOU GO AND HIT ME WITH TWIST AFTER TWIST AFTER TWIST AND END THE BOOK LIKE THAT. Fuuuuuuuuu. I’m just sitting here pondering what is even real anymore. Wowee. Absolutely loved this duology. Book one is spookier and I personally loved our fmc more because let’s be real, Verity isn’t the brightest character in book two, BUT book two is so much more unpredictable. Ps: Romance is also explored more in book two and is more graphic....more
