Nora and Bishop's love didn't end when he left her to navigate the world alone, it didn't end when her life was threatened that night during the hurricane and it certainly didn't end she was thrown into the icy waters of Tybee Bay. It thrived, twisted, and grew into an unbreakable force that will never be broken again. Or at least that's what they are fighting so hard to believe. But secrets will always find a way to worm into their hearts and tear them apart from the inside.
Our Time in Japan follows the pair on their trip to meet Bishop's son and their journey to rebuild what they once had.
Aubrey Taylor is a 32-year-old mom living in chilly Canada with her two kids and wonderful husband. Raised by Dean Winchester, Percy Jackson, and horror movies. She's a loud, nerdy, sarcastic lover of stories. Her favourites always including chosen families and adventure. She has been writing and creating stories from her dreams ever since she could remember. With massive emotions of her own, she puts her entire heart into her characters and stories. Aubrey's favorite genres are fantasy, reverse harem romance, and contemporary romance!
First of all I was so excited to see meet Nora and Bishop again ( although I’m certainly not ready to let them go for the last time ). TEARS! Their story and them as characters holds a tight grip around my heart from the very big beginning, when I first met them in You Left Us in Georgia.
I’m this novella we continue to follow their love story, everything that had taken for them to be together once and for all, and their time in Japan to get to know more about Bishop’s life there. A part of his life that has been a secret. They are both happy and excited to finally do it together, but something is also holding Nora down and it’s now her turn to hold on onto a secret. The path to peace has left many scattered tragic memories on the way which only reminds her of one of the darkest night all those years ago.
It’s sweet, beautiful and filled with emotions. You’ll never get disappointed with Aubrey’s writing!
Blown away by this follow up to You Left Us in Georgia - which is required reading to fully appreciate the mountain of emotions in this story. Absolutely loved it, even better than the first! It was over too soon, but I loved the ending so much.
I’ve known Nora and Bishop since before Bishop was Bishop and they were fully/officially put out into this world. Which is why I wanted to give myself the chance to read this zero interruptions, zero distractions inside my head, only space for the two of them. I don’t know about the zero distractions inside my head but I do know they definitely helped, same as before. Which is why I probably started crying since the first page, lol (Aubrey's innate ability to make me cry with her words will never cease to amaze me). It's so hard to see this as "the end" but I guess it doesn't really have to be when they live in our bookshelves forever.
Much like the way You Left us in Georgia made me feel, Our Time in Japan made me feel a plethora of emotions that I can only hope I can make enough sense of to post in this review. To make sure I do, I’ll keep it short: it's a beautiful continuation of a story of a love that stands through every test thrown at them, no matter how big or small and comes out triumphant, no matter how bruised or battered the in between made them.
"ꜱᴇᴄʀᴇᴛꜱ ᴡᴏɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴋɪʟʟꜱ ᴜꜱ ʙᴀʙʏ." ʜᴇ ꜱɪɢʜꜱ "ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴛʀʏ ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ʜᴀᴠᴇɴ'ᴛ ʏᴇᴛ." And oh is that proven throughout their love story.
I can sit here all day pouring out quotes endlessly as I take in their story but I’ll be back another time to dump my 501 tabs placed throughout my read on you.
Thank you for gifting us, for gifting *me* Nora and Bishop, Aubrey. Thank you for trusting us with them. I feel like no words are enough to truly express the gratitude I feel but… I will love them forever, with all my heart, just as I will you.

This was such a cute little novella, following on from the story of ‘You Left Us In Georgia’.
Nora and Bishops love story is definitely one I always want to remember. This story shows that love is full of hardships and if it is always easy you aren’t doing it right.
There are some great moments, and some incredibly sad moments. I was never left unsatisfied. This answered all of the questions I still had from the first book.
The love I have for Bishop and Nora is indescribable. Their relationship is so real to me because it’s not always sunshine & I think that’s why I love these two with all my heart. Aubrey Taylor did such an amazing job again!
This was such a good little ending to Nora and Bishops story! It was a quick read but captured so many emotions and moments that brought the whole story to its close.
I love this novella. It was enjoyable and I of course got emotional at certain parts. But that is the story of Nora and Bishop.
I won’t spoil much cause then I would spoil more of “You Left Us In Georgia.” I’m just going to say that the main reason they are going to Japan, was one of the reasons I cried from YLUIG.
There is the unexpected pregnancy in this book, too which I expected, because of the first book. And I need to stress this now, but this novella is a must-read if you loved the first book.
I love the storyline of Nora and Bishop. Do consider reading both books. Like seriously, I want you to feel what I felt throughout this book. 😭🫶💙
