One day, I was chugging along at life as a wedding planner. The next, I’m a confidential informant and fake engaged to the grumpiest DEA agent on earth.

Hit the brakes. Let’s back up.

You know those sappy made-for-TV movies where the leading lady gets the unsuspecting knock on the door and is the beneficiary of a massive inheritance?

That’s me. I’m that heroine.

My name is Goldie Carter, and inheriting The Pink—one of the most historic and grandest estates in Miami—would be a dream come true for any gal, but especially me.

I’m a true romantic. I believe in soul-wrenching love so deep, to have it ripped away would physically hurt.

But I’m still waiting for my prince charming.

And life isn’t so golden at the moment.

Money, greed, and cartels have a way of forcing love to the backburner when a surprise half-brother rears his ugly head.

Enter Kingston Jennings, Special Agent for the DEA—and quite possibly the crankiest man I’ve ever met.

That’s how I got to where I am right now.

Fake engaged.

And falling in love.

Little did I know, I don’t need a prince charming.

I need a King.

Background:

Kingston (43) is a DEA agent who has been after Dex, Marigold/Goldie's (34) half-brother. He slipped away three years ago, and since then, King has been hell-bent on taking him down. Therein enters Goldie; she's a wedding planner and the link that they needed to get in touch with Dex. So King stalked her for months and learned everything there is to know about her. He approached her by faking that he needed to plan his aunt's wedding, and he asked her if she could get him inside "The Pink", the supposed venue for the event. This is also where Dex makes all his cartel dealings; that's why King needs to get inside the place.

There's no love lost between the siblings, and Goldie wants to take down her brother too. She doesn't want to do anything with him and his cartel. Also, the jerk made her sign away her part of "The Pink". They both inherited the place, but since Dex is greedy and a vile person, he bullied her, and Goldie had no choice but to give it to him.

One night, she sneaked them into the venue to show it to King. But they were caught, and this is where the fake engagement started. King blurted all of a sudden that he and Goldie were engaged, and this is how they started working together.

============================

This was good, plot-wise. It's nothing I hadn't read before, I still enjoyed the pace and how the plot developed. I did enjoy the suspense part and how the men in this series were thick as thieves in every task or mission they undertook.

I loved the romance, and this falls into the insta-love category. Some people don't like it, but I dig that trope. Maybe it wasn't too fast for the characters because they're already mature enough to know what they want or don't want. They just need to explore their chemistry and see where it takes them, I suppose. And they were so good together—how King, the grump, fell fast and hard for Goldie, the sunshine, was so adorable.

In all the times they were together, I had the most fun when they were intimate. Not because it's hot—that's a given—but because I think they're more emotionally connected during these times. The honesty, sensuality, vulnerability, and intimacy they showed make it impossible not to swoon over them and root for them to be an official couple.

For someone who has never been in love with or committed to anyone, King sure knows all the right things to say and do to make Goldie feel treasured and loved. He said he's not good with words, but he really is smooth when expressing his thoughts. Sure, there are instances when it's awkward and comes off in a different context than intended. But he's always quick to make amends and backs it up with action. And I really admired his protective and possessive side, which no one ever brought out in him until Goldie came into his life.

As for Goldie, I adored her personality and her consistent use of manners. Even in moments when her emotions were running high and she was furious over the circumstances, she never cursed throughout this story. Her mom really raised her well. 😂 I loved how, despite her high standards for men and love, she quickly warmed up to the notion of being with King. She said he's different from what she thought she wanted, but she's glad that he came into her life (or bulldozed his way, whichever you see it.) 😂

I wish we'd seen how her wedding planning business was going. This was her goal at the beginning of the book, so I kind of hoped that there would be some progress on this. After she helped with King's task, all we read was that she's rebuilding "The Pink." I hoped there would be some updates or a glimpse in the future that she's being a boss babe in her career. 🤷‍♀️

For the suspense part, I feel like the bad guys had it so easy. The way they were caught felt anticlimactic. Then I realized this is no organized crime romance, so violence will never be the method to handle them. 🥲 Why does King have to be a DEA agent? Ugh. 😂

Anywaaay, this was good. I had fun with the suspense part, especially with the romance. I have never disliked any book in this series so far, and I hope Rocco's book will be as good as the others. 🤞

If you want a book that grips you so tight you don't even want to try and get away, pick this one. King and Goldie's romance might not have had the best start with the lies and subterfuge but they way these two worked through everything...amazing. I loved seeing them together and Goldie was such a polite badass I couldn't get enough of her. She might have been sweet and soft spoken at times but that did not mean she lacked the back bone to go up against King. It made for the best banter and I couldn't help but smile at their interactions. Not even just them, King and team together had me giggling like a crazy person too and it's always so entertaining to see these men interact together like a bunch of gossiping schoolgirls.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and it had me captivated from the start. I'm so happy we got to see some past characters come back into the fold too and it's made me want to go back and re-read so many of Ms. Asher's books.

The bromance in this book was almost as good as the romance between King and Goldie! I really enjoyed their banter and how much Micah and Brax teased King. Their conversations had me rolling.

I loved King. He was adorably awkward with Goldie at first, but quickly became very protective of her.

Goldie was an easy heroine to respect. She did the best she could under an impossible situation and despite everything that happened, she was willing to put her neck out on the line for King.

This series just gets better with each book. The biggest draw for me is the bromance with all the men and their hilarious banter with each other. I probably could read a book just on that alone. I’m looking forward to Rocco’s book.

Just okay. A bit boring tbh and I didn't feel like they had any chemistry, so no real sexual tension between them. Book 2 is the best in this series so far.

Safety: safe

No real details on any specific relationships except hero never really tried for a relationship.

No ow/om drama

No cheating/sharing

No manho(that we know of)/no virgins

King & Goldie - excellent, exciting, hilarious, steamy... A great story!

King is grumpy, but hilarious in a BA agent kinda way. Not like Micah, who knows he's going for the amusement. King's LOL moments come unexpectedly from him trying to convey his annoyance, even when he's really enjoying the banter. (Like Rocco in text threads he keeps getting added to... 🤣)

Goldie is such a great push for him, tho neither really realize this. Watching King realize what his actions have brought her into, and the way his emotions & attitude shift as feelings get involved was excellent story telling!

I love Goldie's bravery & the way she is around King's family.

This story is full of fun & adventure & steam & banter (again, Agent banter!), cameos that made me LOL, and such a FANTASTIC ending!

Loved it!!

Must read

This is what romance should be. Actual people having conversations. Intelligent leads, that are not dumbed down. And swoon worthy moments.
I was hooked, Brynne delivered all of the above. There was an actual story, and for that I’m thankful.
Investment in the characters, their lives is a must.
It’s a yes from me.

This has all the alpha goodness!!! I absolutely LOVED King! He was everything I crave in a hero. He was protective, possessive, and delicious in every way. I can't remember another male character like him. I was sure the steam between him and Goldie would melt my Kindle. On the hotness scale, this would be a 10 out of 5 chili peppers.

There is something about the way this book was written that reminds me of the books that had me falling in love with romance again. It's fresher and current but at its core is a masculine feeling when King or his crew is on the page that is missing or watered down in other books. It feels authentic and I couldn't get enough of it.

Reading a book in one sitting hasn’t been on my radar for awhile….until now.

Exposed is a perfect addition to The Agents series; King and Goldie’s “meet-cute” is not all that “cute” but boy oh boy…..their story is all that and more!

They weather sooo many storms from every corner of their lives, but King, being who he is, he stands shoulder to shoulder with Goldie.

Exposed has a mix of adventure, spice, and drama that will draw you in. Oh…..and…..ahh, I can’t say, you have to read it!!!!

Brynne Asher created King with everything that's my kryptonite when it comes to a book boyfriend. Alpha in every way possible. Possessive with delicious touch her and die vibes. Extremely protective. Able to melt your heart with single sentence and melt your panties with one scorching hot glance. And what did he need to reach the epic book boyfriend level? A sassy and fierce woman to bring down on his knees! Exposed is heart stopping, swoony, sinful perfection from Brynne Asher. The suspense was balanced beautifully with intense emotions. This fake relationship grumpy-sunshine romantic suspense about the special agent and the woman who was supposed to be his key to his enemies but ended up being his forever..is just unputdownable.

Long story short, special agent King targeted Goldie as part of his first undercover mission as he thought she is key to access her drug kingpin brother but it turns out that they were wrong and now he has to ask her to be his fake fiance and confidential informant and to risk herself in a life she came out of..and not to fall for her in real.

King is the badass alpha. He is the Supreme grump. Even more stoic than his friends in the force. But Goldie gave him a run for his money. She is legit afraid of going back to the criminal world but she also wants to help King to take down her evil brother. Even if it means facing her worst nightmare. And she is absolutely amazing! King fell first..surprisingly and he had to fight tooth and nail to make her believe it. The chemistry was instant. But creating a bond of trust and love was harder. King is definitely at his protective possessive and sometimes clueless best. The secondary characters are a priceless part of the book.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

My King. My heart! Exposed by Brynne Asher was a wild, suspenseful, and spicy ride that I simply didn’t want to end. Each book in this series keeps getting better and hotter, and Kingston Jennings did not disappoint. I loved that he fell first and put his real feelings out there for Goldie right from the start. Not to mention, he had all his DEA fellas supporting him and nagging him at the same time, considering he fell for his confidential informant. Goldie Carter was a strong, fierce heroine, but also stubborn at times. Her faith in King was vulnerable at times, but I loved his steadfast love and persistence to give her what she needed. In turn, her love and trust grew even stronger. Plus, their undeniable chemistry was HOT right from the start and didn’t let up the entire book. King and Goldie are a new favorite Agent series couple for sure!

Overall, I LOVE this book. If you are a fan of a suspenseful romance with a hunky protective DEA agent, a feisty event planner turned confidential informant, a wedding planning meet cute, a fake wedding, catching an infamous drug cartel, dancing with Aunt Trippy, loyal DEA agents, secrets, danger, shower spice, running away, catching up with Ozzy Graves and Cole Carson, found family dinners, intimate conversations, speaking your truths, facing your past, and a HEA that will expose your heart to love, then you will love Goldie and King’s story. I always look forward to more from Brynne Asher.

One thing readers should know about a Brynne Asher book is that each story is unique, all her characters are the perfect combination of hilarious and intense and you will always be surprised. Ms. Asher weaves her stories with such precision that you get completely lost in the pages. Exposed is no different.

King and Goldie had quite the road ahead of them and I was absolutely OBSESSED with them.

If you like your heroines smart, sassy and strong then Marigold Violet Carter is your woman. If you like your heroes bold, obsessed and protective then Kingston Jennings is your man.

Exposed is my new favorite of The Agents series! I can’t wait for the next one!

Exposed features Goldie, a wedding planner/confidential informant and King, a DEA agent. King, as part of his undercover mission, gets Goldie’s help, which turns into a forced proximity and fake engagement to keep their cover up.

This was… okay ish. I feel like all the ingredients were mixed into a bowl - forced proximity and possession and agents and life or death and then the ingredients didn’t get baked into something delicious. While the parts were fine, I just wanted that final product to shine. Instead, we got choppy dialogue and being told “you’re mine” so incredibly soon I almost has whiplash from the insta love.

I really love when these strong alpha guys meet their match and she gives zero cares about his overprotective hangups. However, Goldie just felt soft and delicate (which is totally fine for her to be!) but this type of match just… falls flat for me. She comes off as a push over and he comes across like a bully and I’m left with a confused look on my face.

Overall, just not for me, which is sad because I LOVED book one.

Oh my. Oh my gosh. Oh. My. GAWD. You’re going to love King. I promise. But you’re going to love Goldie even more. She’s funny and stubborn and strong and in far more danger than she ever imagined. She’s also holding some tough secrets, but for good reason. Even with the blood in her veins, the bad reputation on some paper (that’s easily explained away), and the worries about livelihood, Goldie is someone you need in your life. And you already knew that you needed King. Or you should’ve already known. Because he’s cantankerous and gruff and holy wow, oh so hot. He’s possessive and doesn’t see this as fake. He’s protective and doesn’t care who he has to crush in his mission to protect Goldie.

These two take us on a rollercoaster journey through danger, fragile egos, angry and evil men, old friends we always love seeing, humor, family, and even a few things that go BOOM before they reach their forever. And trust me, it’s a ride you need. You want it. And you’ll love every last second of it. Then you’ll want more and will be begging the author to let us all into her world again SOON.

I gave this book 5⭐️ because I love this author’s stories. I love the way she writes, her characters and their development and how she infused her new plots with characters we know and already care for.

This is book 4 in The Agents series which revolves around a bunch of DEA Agents working out of Miami. This book is specifically about King Jennings who is the last one to join the team.

On a mission to bring down Dex Carter head of the largest drug cartel operating out of Miami,King meets his sister, Goldie. In attempting to use Goldie to get next to Dex, King falls for her.

The story intertwines their budding relationship with the operation. It also brings Cole Carson and Ozzy Greaves from the Killers series in to assist in taking down the cartel.

It’s a spicy, grumpy/sunshine romance. The action at the end of the book is so good. Of course King and Goldie get a HEA. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

2.75 stars?

For some reason it took me 5 days to get through a new release I was kinda excited about 😵‍💫 overall this series hasn’t been the best for me yet, but I think I’m also in a bit of a book slump. Books are always harder for me to rate and review when I read them slowly so idk maybe this was better than my brain can remember lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

This was alright. I liked the Miami DEA vibes and the grumpy/sunshine with an age gap, but something was missing for me. Everything just felt a bit melodramatic, the characters were delulu and annoying me at times and the instalove BA always gives wasn’t hitting the same with these two. I did like King’s family and the settings in Miami, but this book was obviously pretty easy for me to put down and I feel like it was only exciting at the end with not a lot actually happening the majority of the book… Anyway it was entertaining enough and it might just be me. I am excited to see what Rocco gets up to in his book later this year!

I liked it all right!

But it's not a 5 star rating because the plot had some loops that seemed pretty unbelievable to me thus it made things look rushed and pushed, and I do need those little things in a story that is set in the "possible real life" scenario - it should be as realistically as possible, as much as it might sound ridiculous, since this is a fiction romance, the story still needs to hold bits that make it believable....BUT this is only my opinion

Other than that, I loved the interactions between the MCs, and yeah Kingston is really what the first 4 letters of his name say - King *wink*

King and Goldie’s story was such a great read! King going undercover and meeting up with Goldie as a potential client was actually quite funny. He was just such a grump. And as opposite as Goldie was, she was absolutely perfect for him.

King may not have started off as being protective over Goldie, but as the two worked together the more determined he was to keep her safe. The case they are working on definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. The things that Goldie had endured was so heartbreaking that I was ecstatic she had someone like King so possessive and protective over her.

Overall, their journey towards their happily ever after was definitely bumpy and the suspense was nerve wracking, but in the end, it was all so worth it! And to add on to all the awesomeness of the main characters, I loved how the previous agents made an appearance. They were hilarious! I really hope there will be more to this series.

When I say Brynne Asher knows how to write a hot alpha male, I mean Brynne knows how to write the hell out of ‘em. King is no different and I loved every second of him. His first interaction with Goldie had me laughing and I was drawn in right away. He’s hot, all alpha, kind of grumpy, and while maybe not the best at undercover work, kept me laughing the whole time. Brax and Micah were entertaining as usual and I love that they were in so much of the novel. Add in a bit of Cole Carson and it doesn’t get much better.

Goldie was the perfect partner to King. I loved her realism and how she was just trying to make it in the world. I loved their banter together.

Full of action, steam, banter, and humor, Exposed was a terrific addition to The Agents series. I love the grumpy-sunshine trope and the fake fiance trope. The secondary characters are great too (Trippy kills me and I adore Rocco). I definitely recommend it!

King for the win!

Loved this edition of the agents. Goldie is such a strong FMC and while I suspected there would be a bit of push and pull regarding the ethicalness (is that a word?) of the relationship with King, that did not come through.

The storyline was good, the character arc was perfect and I loved King as the MMC. He may be my favourite of all the agents...although no one can beat Asa from Gifts!

Holy…. This book just sucks you in from the start. I was curious about King in the last book and this one did not disappoint. I absolutely loved him! Goldie was so incredible. She was perfect for King! I loved Rocco in this book. Micah and Brax had me laughing out loud. I can’t wait for the next book!!! I highly recommend this book. A fake dating story with a twist - H is an FBI agent and h is his paid informant. 👀
H falls first and fast.

I liked revisiting my other Agents couples and fantasizing about the final book in the series - ROCCO's story!

Exposed was… I really don’t have enough words to describe it. Fast paced, intense, sometimes funny, sexy, and intense (again), this story was an absolute thrill to read. The “villain” was unpredictable, the hero was overwhelming, and the heroine was beyond sweet.
The side characters and cameos were perfect, enhancing the story and occasionally stealing the show.
Overall, an easy 5 stars!

Ok

Goldie, 34, is a struggling wedding/event planner who needs this next client like she needs her next breath or it's time to pack it up and move back home. Her new client is an expensive wearing suit guy who wants to plan his dying aunts wedding.. only catch is it has to be at a venue where she swore she'd never go back to.

King, 43, is finally back on track with a case he's been working on for years finds his in to take down a cartel.. little does he know he puts his "collateral damage" back in the sights of the people she's terrified of.

I'm not gonna lie.. this book wasn't it.. I stuck around for king and the other agents. I'm ok with a weak h what I'm not ok with is a weak h that's also immature. Goldie reads as a barely 20 something girl not a mid 30s woman. And her go to is running from her problems feelings and thoughts.. hard pass. I did absolutely love king he was the best which again is why I read the whole thing.. I did enjoy the story that was good.. if Goldie was written differently I would have loved this book

Least favorite of the series.

This was a hard read because as scintillating as the plot should’ve been, found it to be dreadfully boring. Took months for me to read and only stuck with it because I liked the secondary characters and want to read the next.

King and Goldie

This was exciting from page one. King and Goldie were such a fun couple and their story was non stop. There was action, there was steamy chemistry, there was suspense, and surprisingly, there was humor. It was a well rounded and expertly thought out story that had me reading late into the night.

King and Goldie’s romance was a pretty quick burn with very little angst. They both had commitment issues, but once they met, those disappeared. Through King’s investigation of Goldie’s brother, he and Goldie formed an unbreakable bond. They started out as fake fiancés and ended up finding the love of their lives.

King’s case provided the suspense and intensity in this book. It definitely heated up at the end with some major twists, but was exciting from the beginning. I liked that Goldie found her peace and safety with King, which allowed her to become her own person again. King and Goldie made a great team and I loved how their relationship developed. They were a little bit grumpy/sunshine and that provided some great banter.

This was an excellent addition to the Agents series. It fit well with the other books in the series and I loved that both couples had cameos. I also loved the cameos of some of the characters from the Killers series.

This is a great addition to the series! I didn’t love it as much as the first two, and I’m trying to figure out why. My thoughts are that Goldie’s emotions were so all over the place that I felt a little whiplashed at various parts of the story. King is all in once he decides he’s all in, but Goldie is on the fence the whole time, though we don’t really even get that vibe from her. I think her inner dialogue just wasn’t fleshed out as well as it could have been.

The scene where she just suddenly leaves for home is a good example. Her taking off kind of came out of no where, and we get a description of her feeling angry and then sad, but when King is at her mom’s house already, they barely talk through things and are suddenly getting it on again and she’s over whatever made her run? I guess I wanted to understand her motives and thought processes more than I was able to.

Regardless of that aspect, it really is such a good and steamy read. I recommend this after the rest of Brynn Asher’s books, since multiple characters show up from past series and it’s fun to know who they are.
