How to Choose a Gaiian in Seven Days

Rate this book
When Creythur Darfothahar sees Earthen Dr. Marigold Clemons take on a swarm of Pilfers in a dark Bogartan alley, the Gaiian is charmed—and bonded. As a xenobotanist, Mari views the insectoid race attacking a cabbagey life-form as a personal affront. Not today! Not when a brave and bold xenobotanist can save the day…with a lot of help from a hot Gaiian who arrives to fight alongside her. And, so it begins…eventually. It takes Crey six months to arrange a week-long courtship with the xenobotanist, and she's unaware they've bonded. Finally—it’s time for Crey to tell Mari and convince her to accept him. And, the rough outpost is immediately attacked by the Gaiians’ sworn enemies. Crey and Mari escape toward the Gaiians’ dark system with their enemies in pursuit. Love on the run has never been this green or sexy, but it’s also never been this Gaiian. How to Choose a Gaiian in Seven Days is a full-length sci-fi romance novel with a HEA and no cheating. It features sexy banter, a feisty tatted scientist, a pragmatic logical hero, space battles, trekking across a hostile planet, and plenty of heat. It also has broccoli, non-sentient broccoli, in case you’re a fan. If you like ruthless alien warriors who soften for their bonded mate, moments that make you laugh loud enough to scare your pet, and, of course, a happily ever after, you’ll love How to Choose a Gaiian in Seven Days, the first book in Wendy Sparrow’s sci-fi romance series Love, Gaiians, and Monsters. Each book can be read as a standalone.

surprisingly good

I’m not normally into space romances but this worked. It liked the interactions and the story moved at a great pace. The world building was also done deftly. Looking forward to reading more in this world.

This book is freaking awesome!

The worldbuilding is fantastic, Mari and Crey are a great couple and hilarious, and Wanda is totally awesome. I laughed out loud so much. Seven Days takes a believable look at an honorable non-human convincing a human that a mate bond is real and reason to be together. And the book is hilarious. There is some graphic violence (but those non-humans, creatures, and plants deserved their fates). There are some sex scenes, but nothing graphic. And Seven Days made me happy. I read it in KU but will buy it to reread when I need to laugh.

Ended up skimming most of this book, unfortunately. The main characters were endearing enough but the plot didn’t seem very different than any other “alien falls in love with human” story I’ve read so I lost interest.

A Fun Read

An entertaining romp through space. I enjoyed the world building and most of Mari and Crey's interactions.

Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

loved this book! a very competent MFC (who is a bit dumb sometimes) and an all in MMC (who is a bit dumb sometimes). Tbh it’s about 10% too long though.
