Emily in Paris Season 4, Part 2 has finally arrived. But before Emily (Lily Collins) jets off to Rome to live her best Lizzie McGuire Movie life, she welcomes a new co-worker named Geneviève to Paris.

Geneviève, played by actor Thalia Besson, joins Emily in Paris‘ Season 4 character line-up along with several other exciting additions, including Emily’s new love interest Marcello, played by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini.

Turns out Geneviève is in Paris because she’s Laurent’s (Arnaud Binard) daughter from a past relationship. It’s her dream to live, work, and build a life in the city — but will her presence come in between her dad and Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu)? Or will she be an excellent addition to Emily’s crew? Only time will tell!

After Season 4’s unexpected Geneviève developments, we have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of her if the series returns for Season 5. So who is Geneviève in Emily in Paris? Who plays Geneviève? And what do we know about actor Thalia Besson and her dad Luc Besson? We’ve got you covered!

Read on for everything to know about the new Emily in Paris cast member, but be mindful that some Season 4, Part 2 spoilers lie ahead.

Who is Geneviève on Emily in Paris?

Geneviève is swiftly introduced in Emily in Paris Season 4, Part 2 when we learn in Episode 6 that Sylvie and her husband are spending Christmas with his 17-year-old daughter, who he didn’t learn he had until later in life. Laurent is trying to make up for lost time with her, and Sylvie’s doing her best to be respectful — she even offers to help Geneviève land an assistant job and promises she’ll reach out to her acquaintance and put in a good word.

When Sylvie’s plan to make Geneviève seem like a catch fails, she feels guilty and offers her a job at her company, where she quickly bonds with fellow American Emily and starts shadowing her. After the two have a Brigitte Macron meet-cute, Geneviève follows Emily along to work with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) at his restaurant, and things get complicated. Unlike Emily, Geneviève speaks French, and she quickly uses that advantage to bond with Gabriel, who she clearly has a crush on. Uh oh, Emily! A new Gabriel love triangle may be on the horizon!

We’ll leave the major Geneviève spoilers out to preserve the sanctity of your Season 4, Part 2 binge — but by Episode 8, both Emily and Sylvie have beef with the newbie. While you wait to find out what Season 4 has in store, let’s learn more about Thalia Besson, the actor who plays Geneviève on Emily in Paris.
