Saturday Night Live is bidding farewell to Chloe Troast — and according to the comic, this move was not made on her own volition.

Troast, who joined the NBC sketch comedy show in Season 49 as a featured player, opened up on Instagram earlier this week after Deadline broke the news of her exit.

“Unfortunately I was not asked back to SNL this season,” she wrote, in part. “I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.”

Troast took to TikTok on Wednesday (Sept. 11) to reiterate to fans that she “will not be on SNL this next season,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

“This was not my choice, I wish I was there getting to be with my friends,” she continued. “It truly felt like a second home. Thank you to everyone. I love you all.”

The news of her departure arrived with the promotion of featured players Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker, as well as the casting of newbies Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.

Several of her SNL castmates showed their love and support in the comments of her Instagram post, including Hernandez, Walker, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, James Austin Johnson, Sarah Sherman, Chloe Fineman, and Molly Kearney, the last of whom announced that they were leaving the series in August.

Punkie Johnson also confirmed that she is leaving SNL after starting on the show in 2020. She later admitted to fellow SNL alums Dana Carvey and David Spade on their Fly on the Wall podcast that she “didn’t really feel like [she] fit. ”

Saturday Night Live Season 50 premieres on Sept. 28 at 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
