Ryan Seacrest made his Wheel of Fortune debut on Monday night (Sept. 9), and the game show’s loyal fanbase has spoken. So, what are their thoughts on the new co-host?

Seacrest took to X to share some pictures from set, gushing, “If you’re having half as much fun watching as I am hosting, we’re in for an amazing season!”

However, some fans did not share the same optimism as Seacrest following Wheel of Fortune‘s Season 42 premiere. A viewer lamented that they “seriously can’t handle Ryan Seacrest.” One critic claimed Seacrest was “off to a rocky start,” highlighting that he had “not a single mention of the ICON Pat Sajak” over the course of his intro.

Another echoed this sentiment, but still praised Seacrest for doing “a good job,” while one Seacrest supporter stood by the new host, arguing that he is “fantastic” in the role and describing him as a “breath of fresh air.”

Seacrest received further praise for being “a good host,” as some fans also complimented his dynamic with co-host Vanna White, deeming them “a great team.”

Nonetheless, Seacrest wasn’t the only target of fans and critics alike. The show’s new set, which fans had picked up on prior to the Season 42 premiere, also garnered some opinions online.

“I like that Ryan is hosting wheel of fortune but I hate the other changes they made to the show,” one fan wrote.

Another questioned why the show “look[s] so awful now.”

The set was not solely met with critiques. One fan gushed about the “beautiful new set,” but longed for Sajak’s humor, noting that while Seacrest is “very personable,” he should “add more humor.”
