What Time Is The Debate Between Kamala Harris And Donald Trump? Start Time, Livestream, Channels And More

Vice President Kamala Harris and former U.S. president Donald Trump are set to have their first debate this evening, and the stakes are high.

This will not only be the first debate between the candidates, but will also mark the first time they meet face-to-face.

The last presidential debate sent this year’s election into a tailspin. President Joe Biden‘s disappointing, and frankly concerning, performance sowed doubt amongst voters over whether he could lead the country for another four years, forcing the president to step away from the race. Harris promptly took on the mantle in July 2024 and her campaign has since hit the ground running. Tuesday’s debate could mark a major turning point in the election.

ABC will be hosting the debate from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia with anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis moderating.

ABC announced the agreed upon rules for the debate last week. The debate will mostly adhere to the same rules instituted during President Biden and Trump’s last debate, including the notable rule to keep the candidates’ mics muted while their opponent is speaking.

Harris’ campaign had recently been pushing to keep their mics on during the debate, to no avail. However, CBS News reports that the network may choose to turn the mics on if there is “significant cross talk” between the candidates.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch the presidential debate live.

When is the next presidential debate?

Trump has previously said they plan to have three presidential debates, but it remains to be seen when the candidates will face off against each other again.
