Harris stepped in after president Joe Biden decided to drop out of the race last month. Biden has since backed Harris’ campaign, as has former president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, both of whom spoke at the conference on Tuesday night (Aug. 20 ). Since taking on the task, Harris has chosen Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Maya Rudolph talked the possibility of her return to Saturday Night Live to portray Harris once again, leaving fans with the following: “I mean, I don’t know. We’ll see!”

NPR reports that Harris surprised DNC attendees with an appearance on Monday night (Aug. 19), as did Walz. According to the outlet, she expressed her gratitude to Biden, proclaiming that “we are forever grateful” to him. Per USA Today, viewers can anticipate Harris accepting her nomination on Thursday night, which also marks the final night of the convention.

The exact time of Harris’ speech has yet to be disclosed, though it will probably take place toward the later half of the night.
