When Does The DNC Start? How To Watch The 2024 DNC

2024 has proven to be an eventful election year. With President Joe Biden backing out of the race and Vice President Kamala Harris set to face off against Donald Trump, this year’s presidential election is shaping up to be quite the battle.

Now, the biggest leaders in the party will convene in Chicago for the 2024 Democratic National Convention. Though details of this year’s programming are still being kept under wraps, voters will get a closer look at VP Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

The candidates are expected to formally accept their nominations and address the audience. Walz is expected to speak on Wednesday (Aug. 21) while Harris will close out the convention on Thursday (Aug. 22).

Several lawmakers will also be making an appearance at the convention, including President Biden, who is set to speak Monday (Aug. 19) evening.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed the news, adding, “He’s looking forward to, as he tends to do, speak directly to the American people, talk about the moment that we’re at, what’s at stake, and continue to talk about an issue that is incredibly important to him, which is unity,” per The Independent.

ABC also reports that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are also set to speak at the convention next week.
