A group of space researchers discover a life form that shocks them to their cores in Alien: Romulus, which is coming to theaters this weekend. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this new science-fiction flick!

Alien: Romulus takes place between the events of the 1979 film Alien and the 1986 film Aliens. Starring Cailee Spaeny and Isabela Merced, a team of space colonists decide they are going to break into the abandoned Romulus space station for its technology. However, once they get there, they realize that this space station is actually not very abandoned. There is alien life at Romulus and that life is horrifying sight that is not willing to play nice. Will these researchers figure out how to protect themselves, or will the aliens maintain the upper hand on them?

So, where can you watch Alien: Romulus? Will it be on Netflix? What about Max?

WHERE TO WATCH ALIEN: ROMULUS:

Currently, the only way to watch Alien: Romulus is to go to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, August 16. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you will just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon, or available to stream on Hulu. WHAT DATE WILL ALIEN: ROMULUS BE STREAMING? WILL ALIEN: ROMULUS BE ON HULU?

Since Alien: Romulus is being distributed by 20th Century Studios, it will eventually make its way to either Hulu or Disney+. However, it’s more likely that it will stream on the former since that’s where most of the company’s more adult content lands.

While a streaming release date has not yet been announced, we can make a guess based on The First Omen — which came to Hulu about 45 days after debuting in theaters. If Alien: Romulus follows the same trajectory, you might be able to watch it from the comfort of your home by late September 2024.

WILL ALIEN: ROMULUS BE ON MAX?

No, Alien: Romulus will not be on Max, previously known as HBO Max, since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie.

WILL ALIEN: ROMULUS BE ON NETFLIX? WILL ALIEN: ROMULUS BE ON PRIME VIDEO?

No, Alien: Romulus will not be on Netflix. At least, not any time soon. While it’s possible the film may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on streaming.

As for Prime Video, Alien: Romulus will be available to rent or purchase digitally at some point in the not too distant future. It might be as soon as 3 weeks, but if the movie performs strongly at the box office, that date could very well move out to 45 days from now. So, likely sometime between mid-September and mid-October.
