Ariana Madix and Scheana Shay‘s friendship has not been as good as gold since they filmed the explosive Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion.

Madix stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse alongside The Real Housewives of Dubai star Sara Al Madani for Tuesday night’s (Aug. 13) episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she revealed that she only talks to Shay “here and there.”

“Would you say that your friendship took a big hit after the reunion?” host Andy Cohen asked, to which Madix replied, “Yes. Yeah. But there’s a lot of love there. And I think that will always be there.”

The Love Island USA host added that she was “really happy” for Shay, who recently won an award for talking about her postpartum OCD.

“I thought that was, like, really, really lovely,” Madix said.

While filming Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Shay struggled to cut off Tom Sandoval, who had been caught cheating on Madix with their mutual friend Rachel “Raquel” Leviss a few months before they picked up cameras. Madix, for her part, made it loud and clear that she would not associate with anyone who was still friends with her ex-boyfriend, which put Shay between a rock and a hard place.

When Madix last appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Katie Maloney, both women confirmed that Shay was “a better friend” to Sandoval than she was to Madix in the aftermath of their breakup.

Their friendship only became more strained at the Season 11 reunion when Shay sided with Lala Kent, who was critical of Madix for refusing to film with Sandoval.

Despite the backlash, Shay later said she had “no regrets” on her Scheananigans podcast.

“No regrets, but I wouldn’t repeat my actions,” she confessed, per BravoTV. “I felt, in the moment, I was doing what felt best for me to be able to sleep at night. For me to give a little grace, I felt like that’s what I needed to do.”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
