How To Watch Donald Trump’s Twitter Interview With Elon Musk: Time, Livestream Info And More

Elon Musk announced that he will be interviewing former U.S. President Donald Trump on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, ahead of his scheduled debate against Kamala Harris.

The tech entrepreneur announced on his personal X account that he will be sitting down for a “live conversation” with Trump this week.

“This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining!” he wrote. “If you have specific questions & comments, post them under the chat.”

The interview comes as no surprise considering Musk and the former president went from public enemies to political allies amidst the 2024 presidential election. They publicly criticized each other’s politics for years, though Musk later reinstated Trump’s banned Twitter account after he bought the social media site in 2022. Now, it appears that the former president has a new celebrity ally of his own as Harris begins ramping up her political efforts with several star-studded events.

Musk recently endorsed Trump on X and wished him a speedy recovery after he survived the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. Recent reports also claimed that Musk was planning to commit $45 million a month to a new super PAC to back Trump, though Musk denied the reports and clarified he would be giving “at a much lower level.”

Still, this upcoming interview only reinforces that Musk is attempting to help Trump defeat Harris and the Democrats this presidential election.

When is the Elon Musk and Trump interview?

The Trump interview will take place on Monday, Aug. 12, at 8/7c.

According to AP News, Musk promised X will be conducting “some system scaling tests” in anticipation of the large viewership they’re expecting for the livestream.

The platform experienced several technical malfunctions in May 2023 when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis attempted to announce his presidential campaign with a livestream, only to be overloaded by the 400,000 viewers who attempted to tune in. In comparison, Musk and Trump have a combined audience of 281.9 million followers on X.

Musk even responded to a skeptic who wrote there was “no way” X Spaces will have the bandwidth to “withstand” the interview. “I hope it works,” he responded with praying and laughing emojis.
