True crime lovers, there’s a new Netflix original out today, August 1, that we think you’ll love.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder stars Wednesday sidekick Emma Myers as Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi. Pip is a teenager who sets her sights on solving a long-forgotten crime in her quaint British town.

For five years, everyone thought popular golden girl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh, but Pip is convinced it wasn’t Sal at all — and she’s determined to clear his name for a long-term class project.

Is the new show, like so many other things on TV now, based on a book? Keep reading to find out.
