The One Chicago triumvirate is welcoming another series regular to its Chicago P.D. force.

Decider can confirm that Toya Turner is joining the Season 12 cast as patrol officer Kiana Cook. TVLine was first to report the news. Her character is described as someone “who loves the adrenaline of the job and its stakes and doesn’t blink in the face of chaos.” As noted by TVLine, the role was previously named Yara Page.

Turner may be best known for Warrior Nun, a series that was canceled after two seasons by Netflix but earned a devoted following. She has stepped into the One Chicago universe previously through cameos on both Chicago Fire (2014) and Chicago Med (2016). Other TV credits of hers include Empire, Easy, The Mick, and New Amsterdam and Grey’s Anatomy.

She also appeared in Dead Women Walking (2018), which had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Other casting developments in Dick Wolf‘s TV library include Chicago Fire‘s Jocelyn Hudon being bumped up to a series regular, as well as Chicago P.D. alum Jesse Lee Soffer taking on the new role of Supervisory Special Agent Wesley “Wes” Mitchell on FBI: International.

Per TVLine, Turner’s casting news arrives on the heels of Chicago P.D.‘s Season 11 finale in May, which saw the departure of Tracy Spiridakos’ Hailey Upton Halstead. Spiridakos, who joined the cast in Season 4, told Variety that she had made the decision to exit the series “at the end of [her] sixth season,” noting that she “wanted [them] to send out the character with one last season.”

Season 12 of Chicago P.D. premieres Sept. 25 at 10/9 c on NBC. Previous seasons are streaming on Peacock.
