What Time Is Biden Speaking Tonight? Speech Time, Livestream Info And More

President Joe Biden will officially address the nation for the first time on television regarding his decision to drop out of the presidential race.

Days after he announced that he will no longer seek reelection, the president announced his plans on X this morning.

“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” he wrote.

Biden announced the end of his reelection campaign on Sunday night (July 21), which came after weeks of speculation from voters and calls from lead Democrats for him to do so. The decision came as somewhat of a surprise to both the American people and news outlets alike, as the president himself reassured voters up until Sunday morning that his intentions were to stay in the race.

President Biden has formally endorsed current Vice President Kamala Harris for the democratic nomination, and Harris began her campaign nearly immediately after the POTUS announced his decision. Harris raised $81 million for her campaign in the first 24 hours, per Politico.

Biden’s Wednesday speech will take place from the Oval Office, which the president returned to after testing negative for COVID-19 earlier today.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch President Biden’s formal address on Wednesday (July 24).

Online streaming platforms for the previously mentioned news services — like CBS News 24/7, NBC News Now, and ABC News Live — will also carry the speech.

So far, The New York Times has livestreamed major 2024 election events, including the first presidential debate as well as the RNC, so it would not be surprising for them to cover this event as well, however this remains unconfirmed. USA Today will also have a livestream on their website, and The White House will have one as well.

As with the previously mentioned events, X and Facebook both had livestreams for users, which would not be unexpected for Wednesday’s (July 24) event.
