‘Live’s Mark Consuelos Honored To Be “With” One Of ‘TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, Kelly Ripa: “I Sleep In The Same Bed!”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had a lot to celebrate on Live with Kelly and Mark this morning.

The two honored the show’s first anniversary with Consuelos onboard as co-host. While Consuelos deemed the past year “the fastest” of his life, Ripa noted that “it’s been a pleasure to have [him] here.”

While more festivities followed in Wednesday’s installment in honor of Live with Kelly and Mark‘s one-year anniversary, Consuelos took a moment to share some “great news,” as he praised Ripa for being named one of “TIME‘s 100 Most Influential People in the World” this year.

Ripa chimed in, “Let me stop you right there. They have clearly run out of people. Apparently I’m one of the last 100 people.”

Consuelos continued, noting that Anderson Cooper penned an essay in Ripa’s honor “about [her] remarkable talent and [her] guts and [her] grit,” and that the issue will hit newsstands this Friday, April 19.

Ripa said, “We should pick up a copy for our parents.”

Consuelos agreed, adding that Ripa will also be featured in a “primetime special” airing on ABC on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12).

In turn, Ripa teased that there are “so many honors happening,” ultimately claiming “that means something terrible’s about to happen.”

“Cause that’s how I am. I can’t entertain any joy at all,” she quipped.

Her husband and co-host assured her that “waiting for the other shoe to drop is a fool’s errand,” adding, “It never drops. It just doesn’t.”

Consuelos then got back to the subject at hand, Ripa’s new title. He told viewers, “I was thinking, and I want to put this delicately, or politely, because it’s a morning show. That means that I’m like…you know, I’m with one of the most [influential people].”

After Ripa noted “that means [he’s] influential” and he’s “influencing [her],” Consuelos added, “I sleep in the same bed! I’m adjacent!”

Ripa joked, “So show a little respect!”

All jokes aside, Consuelos congratulated Ripa, calling the honor “long overdue.”
