No guest is safe from Joy Behar on The View, as Don Lemon learned only seconds into his appearance on the daytime talk show this morning. While introducing Lemon to the audience, Behar joked about the former CNN anchor being in the throes of menopause.

Lemon inspired the joke by appearing at the Hot Topics table with a mini-fan, which he didn’t exactly hide as he waved the device in front of his face.

Behar told viewers, “Maybe you’ve heard this week, there’s some news with Don Lemon,” referring to Lemon’s very public fallout with Elon Musk, who terminated a partnership between X (formerly known as Twitter) and Lemon following a tense interview with the journalist for his new series, The Don Lemon Show.

When the camera panned to Lemon, he waved at the studio audience with one hand while cooling himself off with a fan with the other.

“Hi, everyone,” he said, before letting out a “whoop” and moving the fan in front of his face. Behar zeroed in on the prop and joked, “He’s having a menopausal moment” (a somewhat ironic joke considering Lemon’s past remarks about a woman past her “prime”).

Like a good sport, Lemon took the joke in stride, laughing as Behar went on to recap his drama with Musk.

“Musk just ended up cutting ties with our darling Don Lemon after a rather tense interview session,” Behar said, before playing a clip of the uncomfortable exchange between Lemon and Musk, who insisted that he doesn’t have to “answer questions from reporters” and told the journalist that he was only participating in the interview because Lemon’s show was on X and he had “asked for it.”

After the clip concluded, Behar exclaimed, “What a snowflake!” to which Lemon replied, “I could use some snowflakes right now.”

“I was determined to get here. The reason I had the fan is because I jumped out of the car sitting in traffic at Herald Square,” he explained. “I jumped out of the car, got on the subway and ran eight blocks just to be with you ladies.”

We have to applaud the dedication!

Behar asked her guest, “Did you really?” and he confirmed, “I did,” as Ana Navarro said she was “glad” he’d set the record straight or TMZ would have spun their own tale.

“Now Don Lemon is running down the streets of New York like a crazy man!” she joked.

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
