Young Sheldon viewers know that the spin-off all started with The Big Bang Theory, and what better way to conclude the prequel series than by featuring two of the original show’s stars.

Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will return as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale that will air on CBS this spring, per a press release shared by the network on Wednesday.

As fans are well aware of, the beloved brainiacs got married in Season 11 of the hit sitcom, per Entertainment Weekly. The release highlights that the last time their characters had any screen time together was in May 2019, when the final episode of The Big Bang Theory aired.

Parsons not only narrates the spin-off, but is also an executive producer, per the press release. Meanwhile, Bialik has done voiceovers in two episodes of the series.

CBS announced last November that Young Sheldon would wrap the series with an hour-long Season 7 finale. The cast shared their emotional reactions to the news online, including young Sheldon himself, Iain Armitage, who took to Instagram and assured fans that they “will make the best 7th season [they] can possibly make.”

Decider’s Joel Keller encouraged prospective viewers to tune in to the latest installment in his Young Sheldon Season 7 review, concluding that the show “has been evolving into an ensemble family comedy for its entire run, but in its final season that goal is fully realized.”

Young Sheldon airs new episodes Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS, with the series finale airing on May 16. Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers may stream episodes live, while Paramount+ Essential subscribers have access to next-day streaming.
