Blame it on the laughing gas! This morning on Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos rehashed some hilarious moments at the denitst.

While chatting about “songs you hear at the dentist” — in which they highlighted the importance of “music’s role in the waiting room” — Consuelos revealed classical music is widely considered “the most relaxing genre.”

Ripa agreed, noting that both times while receiving an MRI she’s asked to hear Vivaldi. As for Consuelos, he had a different tune, confessing, “I’ve asked for reggae.”

Ripa affirmed that her husband and co-host loves the musical genre, and was “very deep into reggae” when they first met — so much so it was “the only music [he] listened to.” When prompted to reveal how she felt about her husband’s love of reggae, Ripa said she “loved it,” but a question still loomed.

“I looked at Mark and I was like, I see a future with this guy,” she recalled. “At what point do I mention Madonna? As the third party in our marriage?”

Consuelos admitted that he was “a casual listener” and not “a super fan,” but that he loved “La Isla Bonita.”

“It’s the perfect Madonna song, amongst others,” he gushed.

Eventually returning to the topic of dentist’s office tunes, Consuelos name-dropped Journey’s “‘Don’t Stop Believing,’ classical music, jazz, [and] lo-fi” as popular preferences, the latter of which he defined as “imperfect music.” However, he joked that he “would love” to listen to “electronic music” while awaiting his appointment.

Ripa quipped, “Well, that must mean you’re one of those people who get laughing gas for a tooth cleaning.”

Consuelos claimed that he’s “only had laughing gas once,” as has Ripa, who brought her husband along for the appointment. Ripa explained that she took their dentist’s recommendation to get laughing gas while getting “some dental work done,” despite feeling that she didn’t need to because she doesn’t “suffer tooth pain.”

Consuelos teased, “Boy, you were zany!”

Ripa replied, “I mean, I don’t know what happened because I don’t remember!”

Consuelos exclaimed, “I mean, you were confessing to stuff you never did!”

Elaborating just enough to pique our interest, Consuelos added, “Just crimes.”
