Liz Cheney has nothing but praise for Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, despite their political differences. On this morning’s episode of The View, Cheney claimed Pelosi shut down her young staffer’s attempt to keep the Republican politician off of the Jan. 6 Committee.

Cheney, who previously served as a Republican representative for Wyoming, has been outspoken against Donald Trump, and even worked on the bipartisan committee that investigated the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021.

While she and Pelosi have “been on opposite sides of just about every political issue,” Cheney noted that they “put that aside” when they worked together on the committee.

“When it came to the Select Committee, watching her operate but also knowing that each time we faced any kind of a debate — if there was a debate about whether we should be aggressive in our litigation strategy or how the hearings should be organized when I had to, if I would go to her and say, ‘Listen, this is what we need to do,’ without exception, she backed me,” Cheney recalled.

However, she later learned that one person took interesting measures to try to dissuade Pelosi from putting her on the committee.

“One of the stories I learned afterwards was one of her young staff — when she was considering putting me on the committee — went to her and handed her a list of the ’10 Worst Things Liz Cheney Has Ever Said About You,'” Cheney told the panel. “Speaker Pelosi, to her credit, looked at it and said, ‘Why are you wasting my time with things that don’t matter?’ And handed it back.”

Cheney, who admitted she won’t “rule out” running for President of the United States in the future, also emphasized the importance of having female leaders in global politics.

“One of the things I think is absolutely clear, and this has been said before, but men are running the world right now and it’s just not going very well,” she said. “I think we need to change that.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
