It’s been an emotional week for Jersey Shore fans as Karma, the iconic Seaside Heights, New Jersey bar in which the cast of self-proclaimed Guidos and Guidettes once partied, has been demolished.

Once a site for fist-pumping, Jersey Turnpiking and, in some instances, peeing behind bars, Karma quickly cemented itself as a historic landmark for fans of the MTV series, which originally aired from 2009 to 2012. The show featured a group of party-hungry 20-somethings who lived in a summer house on the Jersey Shore, where they spent many late nights at Karma.

The club’s unfortunate fate comes five years after it reportedly had its liquor license revoked for underage drinking and closed its doors permanently. While the property went up for auction in 2020, Jersey Shore stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley denied plans for the cast to buy the bar.

“It would be such a disaster,” Polizzi told Page Six at the time, while Farley joked, “We’d be just wasted behind the bar. I’d be peeing behind the bar. It would be auctioned off again.”

With the demolition process in full swing, the duo joined their fellow castmates in mourning the end of an era on social media.

“We got a Situation,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino captioned a video of the club getting bulldozed on X (formerly known as Twitter), while Farley wrote, “RIP,” with a tombstone emoji on her Instagram Story.

In response to the caption, “Snooki, how do you feel about Karma being demolished?” Polizzi posted a TikTok of herself pretending to cry.

The stars of the show aren’t the only ones upset about Karma getting torn down. One fan wrote, “They just demolished Karma the nightclub from Jersey Shore. Oh I’m actually sick to my stomach all I feel is pain.”

Another added, “KARMA GOT TORN DOWN? LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO LIVE OUT MY JERSEY SHORE FANTASY THERE ONE DAY,” before someone else said, “I’ve cried over them demolishing Karma from Jersey Shore like 3x in the past 24 hours I need psychological help.”

You can honor Karma’s memory by streaming Jersey Shore on Paramount+ and/or Hulu.
