The View came to Hunter Biden‘s defense on this morning’s episode after the son of President Joe Biden made a public statement at the Capitol yesterday (Dec. 13) instead of following a subpoena from House Republicans.

Hunter, who wanted to testify publicly about his family’s foreign business dealings as part of the GOP’s investigation into his father, told reporters yesterday, “For six years, I have been the target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine shouting ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here is my answer, I am here,” per CNN.

While discussing the investigation into Hunter and his father, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who admitted that she thinks Hunter did “engage in corruption,” said she hasn’t seen “one shred of evidence” tied to Joe.

Ana Navarro agreed, telling the panel, “Joe Biden’s crime is being Hunter Biden’s father.”

As she continued, she snuck in some shade, saying, “Did Hunter Biden influence peddle on his father’s last name? Yes, he did, [and] so did half of Washington. People sitting at this table did it!”

Her co-hosts were caught off-guard, with Griffin asking who Navarro was talking about. She clarified, “I’m not talking about currently.” Navarro was likely referring to Meghan McCain, the daughter of late Sen. John McCain who left the show in 2021, but she didn’t elaborate further.

With the table less confused, Navarro carried on defending Hunter, noting in response to his tax charges that over 15% of Americans cheat on their taxes. She then accused Republicans of trying to make Hunter slip back into addiction.

“They are trying to get Hunter Biden to go back into addiction because they know that will paralyze Joe Biden because that is his father, a man who has already lost two children, and I think this is going to backfire on Republicans,” she said. “Yes, Hunter Biden did bad things when he was an addict, but enough is enough and they are being cruel. They are going after him just because he is Joe Biden’s son.”
