New friendships, enemies, and alliances were shown on camera in Netflix‘s latest reality hit Squid Game: The Challenge, but what about romances? Did anybody get hot-and-heavy in the dorms? Did anybody fall in love? Well, one former contestant recently dropped hints about a “love triangle” that was formed behind the scenes.

While chatting with Nick Viall on The Viall Files podcast, Phalisia, who competed on the series as Player 229, opened up about “hook ups” on set.

“They’re bringing in 400 plus people, it’s an intense atmosphere, you’re bonding over intense situations… there’s probably closets and corners, people are going to fuck,” Viall said.

When Phalisia was prompted to tell all, she said, “I don’t know for sure if they fucked, but I can say that I was in the bathroom when they both were in the shower.”

Viall pressed Phalisia to reveal who she was referring to, but the former contestant kept her lips zipped and offered, “There was a love triangle going on.”

Well, now you’ve got my attention! Reality Ashley, who has over 91K followers on TikTok, shared the clip on the social media platform with the caption, “OK, who is in the love triangle?” and the comment section blew up with theories.

“The only thing I’ve found on Twitter was 271 (Joy) and 417 (Alex) were [in] a showmance,” wrote one viewer, and another added, “Trey was sad Figgy left for a reason,” however, it was stated in the show that Trey is currently in a relationship.

Several users are speculating that the secret romance was Mai and Chad, although some of the comments seem to be in jest. The two contestants formed a tight bond during the competition series, and were seen getting emotional when they were at risk of elimination.

Player 278, Ashley, weighed in on the conversation after former contestant Dash revealed that Joy and Alex — the two players mentioned in one of the comments above — were in a “budding showmance” before they were eliminated in the Dalgona challenge.

Ashley shared the post on social media and added, “Should we do a live with Joy and the other woman that was a part of the love triangle on the show?”

All is fun and games, but it seems that some of the players weren’t feeling the love in the dorms. Player 018, Bee, said in a recent interview that she didn’t notice any romances on set. “After the first day, I would’ve been surprised because we all started to get a little bit stinky. We’re definitely not feeling fresh anymore,” she shared.

What happens in Squid Game: The Challenge dorms, stays in the Squid Game: The Challenge dorms, apparently… unless it ends up on TikTok!
