Keep calm, Whovians! The latest episode of The Simpsons featured an exciting Doctor Who reunion with Karen Gillan and David Tennant making guest appearances.

Season 35, Episode 8, titled “AE Bonny Romance,” gave the long-running supporting character Groundskeeper Willie (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) an epic romance.

The Simpson family travels to Scotland to find Willie after he goes missing, and they suspect he’s been kidnapped. Upon their arrival, they find that he’s getting married to his childhood love.

Viewers with a sharp sense of hearing will quickly realize that Willie’s bride-to-be, Maisie, is voiced by Gillan, best known for her roles in Doctor Who and Guardians of the Galaxy.

But Gillan isn’t the only Doctor Who alum in the episode; Tennant joins the cast as Maisie’s father, Pa MacWeldon, who disapproves of Willie.

Michael Price, a writer and producer for the animated series, gushed about the get-together on social media: “It’s a Doctor Who reunion with David Tennant and @karengillan! Fun fact: we offered the role of ‘Royal Mile Traffic Bollard’ to a Dalek, but he refused.”

Gillan also made mention of her guest spot, but didn’t give a shout-out to the time-traveling series, writing on Instagram, “I can finally announce the role I was born to play. That’s right folks, I’m Groundskeeper Willie’s new Scottish love interest in The Simpsons. SO honoured to join this legendary show!!!! Episode airs this weekend!”

Respectively, Gillan starred as Amy Pond in Doctor Who from 2010 to 2013 and Tennant served as one of the renditions of the titular Doctor for three seasons starting in 2005, and in various television specials until 2010.

But wait, there’s more! Paul Higgins, an actor who starred in The Thick of It with 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi, appeared in the episode as Maisie’s brother Hamish MacWheldon.

Does Willie get his happy-ever-after? Will Pa ruin Maisie’s wedding? All we know is that we need more nerds in the writers room and more Scots on screen, if this is the result.

The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox and streams next-day on Hulu.
