Bill Maher Tells Neil deGrasse Tyson He’s “Too” Woke, Slams College Students As “F***ing Nuts”

Bill Maher has revealed why he no longer performs stand-up shows at college campuses — and according to him, it’s because students these days are “fucking nuts.”

On a recent episode of his Club Random podcast, Maher engaged in a heated debate with guest Neil deGrasse Tyson, who grilled him on why he doesn’t shift his subject material to satisfy the changing social climate.

“Surely there’s a portfolio of jokes that would still work on a college campus,” Tyson suggested, to which Maher replied, “I would hope not. Maybe some college campuses. The ones you read about are fucking insane.”

When the astrophysicist — who often explains scientific concepts to his millions of social media followers — told him that he had “given up on an entire generation,” Maher let him have it.

“I have given up on any place that doesn’t even remotely attempt to believe in free speech, and thinks that anything that they hear, that they don’t like, that they don’t agree with, is violence,” Maher fumed. “These people are fucking nuts and you should be calling them out.”

He continued, “You’re doing what parents do. You’re taking the path of least resistance, and therefore hurting the kids and yourself. Parents ruin both their lives. They ruin their fucking spoiled kids’ lives, and they ruin their own lives because the kids rule the roost. So that’s what you’re doing on a national level.”

However, Tyson — whom Maher called “too” woke — wasn’t satisfied.

“My father’s greatest bit of wisdom to me, one of them was, ‘It’s not good enough to be right. You also have to be effective,'” he said. “And if you reject the college campus, then you have no influence on them.”

Rejecting the advice, Maher told the scientist that he doesn’t know what he’s “talking about,” before arguing that Tyson knows “outer space,” while he knows “fucking doing comedy shows.”
