The View rang in Halloween this year with some next-level Disney costumes, with the co-hosts tapping their hair, makeup and wardrobe teams for some truly stunning transformations.

While sitting on a Haunted Mansion-style set for their spooky Oct. 31 show, the co-hosts also shared why they had chosen their respective looks. Whoopi Goldberg, who was dressed as a Toy Story Barbie, quizzed everyone about the story behind their character, beginning with Sara Haines, who was dressed as Carl from Up.

After asking Joy Behar about her Cruella look — who said she chose the Disney villainess because she’s “too tall to play Jiminy Cricket” and “too experienced to play Snow White” — Goldberg landed on Ana Navarro, who was dressed as Encanto‘s Mirabel.

“Listen, I love Encanto the movie so much. It had the most beautiful music, it took place in Colombia, I love the idea of a Latin American leading actor, and it was such a successful movie — left us all singing about Bruno for ever and ever,” she said.

She then added, “Let me tell you the truth: I wanted to be Isabela, the extremely beautiful, absolutely perfect sister, but Brian didn’t think that would be a good fit for me.”

The camera then cut to The View‘s executive producer Brian Teta, who replied, “To be fair, I thought Mirabel is the star, she’s the heart of the film.”

He then quipped, “And even though you don’t have a heart, I thought you’d be perfect.”

In response, Ana shot back, “Let me tell you, just ’cause you got a whip…,” referring to Teta’s Indiana Jones costume, which he joked he had chosen since he works “in the Temple of Doom.”

After watching the exchange Goldberg simply said, “Wow, OK,” while Behar added, “This is turning into a roast” and Goldberg agreed, replying, “It’s frightening.”

After revealing Sunny Hostin‘s costume as Neytiri from Avatar and Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s look as Jasmine from Aladdin, the segment came to a close, but Navarro wasn’t done. She ultimately got her revenge on Teta later in the episode, when she made a triumphant costume change into Isabela.

As she twirled on The View set in a long purple dress and flowing wig, she told her co-hosts, “Who cares what Brian wants? Who does he think he is, the boss of me?”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
