Savannah Chrisley continues to keep the public in the know about her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley, both of whom are imprisoned for bank fraud and tax evasion. Her latest update? Her father’s prison popularity.

On Nick Viall‘s The Viall Files podcast, she spoke about how she’s met “so many different people” through visitations at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, where her father is imprisoned.

“It’s hilarious,” she said. “I come through visitation and they come through and they’re like, clapping his hands. He’s like, the president of this place.”

She revealed that she’s “100%” heard crazy stories while speaking with both her parents, whom she said she chats with “at least twice a day.”

“People don’t really realize because people think where they’re at is like ‘Camp Cupcake,’ you know?” she explained. “Just, ‘let’s go bunk around and fucking enjoy great food.'”

While she said the prison is “considered like a camp,” which she compared to “adult babysitting,” and that it holds “non-violent offenders” such as her parents and the “Varsity Blues guy” (also known as Rick Singer), there are also some “major drug lords that made their way down from a maximum security prison” to stay there.

Just a week ago, both Todd and Julie’s prison sentences were moved up by over a year, with Todd now slated for a Jan. 22, 2033 release, while Julie will be released on Oct. 19, 2028.

Savannah also opened up about some personal happenings, including her relationship with former NFL player Robert Shiver, whose ex-wife allegedly tried to kill him. She told Viall, “This guy that I’m talking to, his wife just tried to kill him,” but added, “He’s a normal person and I love it.”

Nonetheless, through the trials and tribulations, she said she and her family have embraced the light-hearted: “You have to find humor in the darkest of situations if you want to get through life,” Savannah said.

And we’ll see it all play out in realtime when the Chrisleys return to TV (again) with their new reality series, which is already in the works, prison sentences be damned.
