Casa Amor is in full swing on Love Island USA. In last night’s Season 5, Episode 20, we met the seven new girls joining the boys in the main villa, and really got to know the six new boys who previously entered the Casa Amor villa. However, one boy stood out from the others for his bluntly awkward humor and bizarre interaction with a wild toad.

According to a press release provided to Decider, 24-year-old Rob Rausch works as a snake wrangler in Florence, Alabama, where he grew up living in a trailer on a farm with his three siblings. As a snake wrangler, Rob has been bitten by countless snakes, including a venomous one. When it comes to finding love, he considers his grandparents his relationship goals, as they have been together for 60 years. He’s looking for someone who loves adventure and can accept that he lives his life with no filter.

Watching last night’s episode, it immediately became clear what Rob meant by “no filter.” The handsome snake wrangler never failed to tell it how it is. In his first one-on-one chat, Rob got to know Kassy. Throughout their conversation, he served Bobbi Althoff-realness as he cracked jokes in an awkward and blunt demeanor without offering up a single smile.

When Kassy explained that she lost her voice from talking too much, she then asked Rob if that was annoying. He quickly replied, “Yes, yes it is.” To lessen the blow, he told Kassy that being annoyed and pestered constantly is one of his love languages. “That and physical touch,” he added, again, without even a smirk.

Kassy laughed and told him, “You’re kind of awkward and I like it.” And just like that, Rob went from charming snakes to girls with awkwardness as his secret weapon.

The next girl we saw Rob pull for a chat was Carmen, who he initially said he had his eyes on the first night of Casa. As the two headed to a more isolated couch away from the other Islanders, they passed a toad in the grass. Without hesitation, Rob scooped up the toad and became its new best friend. He placed it on the couch next to him, facing Carmen, as the two talked. She was unable to focus on Rob without nervously laughing at the toad sitting right in front of her, so Rob invited his new “buddy” to “come to papa” and chill on his button-down shirt. Though silly and awkward, the entire interaction was hilarious — and even Carmen thought so, saying, “My eyes have been f**king opened just based on a 30-second interaction with you and a toad”

This snake wrangler just transformed into a “toad whisperer,” and successfully convinced Carmen to share a bed with him in the process.

It’s too early to tell if Carmen, Kassy, or any of the other girls will ditch their partners back in the main villa to recouple with Rob, but we sure wouldn’t mind watching more of the animal-loving, Rubik’s cube-solving, hilariously awkward Islander.
