‘90210’ Star Shenae Grimes-Beech Admits She Doesn’t Even Remember Meghan Markle’s NSFW Cameo: “It Was A Blip On Our Radar”

Turns out the Duchess of Sussex’s NSFW cameo in 90210 wasn’t as memorable for the cast as it was for the rest of us.

Actress Shenae Grimes-Beech admitted during a recent appearance on Scheana Shay’s podcast, Scheananigans With Scheana Shay, that she couldn’t really remember Meghan Markle‘s guest appearance in the teen drama.

“I don’t think any of us really remembered at all,” Grimes-Beech said. “It was such a blip on our radar.”

Markle made a brief appearance on the show, appearing only in the first two episodes of the series.

Grimes-Beech shared the scene with Markle and her 90210 co-star Dustin Milligan. In the scene, her character, Annie, spots Dustin’s character, Ethan, in the school parking Lot. She waves hello to him before realizing he was receiving oral sex from Markle’s character, Wendy.

The scene resurfaced and went viral after she and Prince Harry got married in 2018. She earned considerable backlash for the role. But, when it occurred during the 90210 premiere in 2008, it was just another moment in the scandalous teen dramas of that era.

“119 episodes, it was one scene at one time,” the actress explained. “You can’t really remember all the the guest stars that came on.” Though she also noted that the moment is “pretty iconic” and “pretty cool.”

Shay and Grimes-Beech also took a moment to discuss Markle’s role in Suits, the legal drama she starred in from 2011-2018. Grimes-Beech called seeing her early days as an actress “so surreal.”

Prince Harry wrote about watching some of her work in his memoir released earlier this year, Spare. “I’d witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room,” he wrote, which he promptly called “a mistake,” per Page Six.

He wrote that he realized he “didn’t need to see such things.”

Markle made her name as an actress playing lawyer Rachel Zane. Her love interest on the series, Mike Ross, was played by actor Patrick J. Adams, who later attended her wedding in 2018.
