You need to calm down — because Taylor Swift is reportedly in the early stages of creating her own “meta-feminist” series alongside Succession screenwriter Alice Birch.

Jake Gyllenhaal may want to duck and cover (again) as the Grammy Award-winning artist, who is currently headlining her sold-out Eras Tour, will reportedly draw inspiration from her long list of ex-lovers in the unnamed series, according to The Sun.

“Naturally, Taylor’s relationships have inspired some of her biggest songs, many of which have become empowerment anthems,” a source told the outlet. “This translates easily onto the screen and there are so many threads they can take from it. It is really exciting and something Taylor is looking to branch out into.”

The Sun further reports that Birch, who has written for hit shows like Succession and Normal People, has already “started discussing a possible new screenplay” with Swift.

“Alice is an ideal writing partner as she helped shape Succession character Shiv Roy,” the source said. “Seeing how she molded this character, who existed in a male-dominated environment, caught Taylor’s eye. They have just been throwing around ideas.”

Decider has reached out to Swift’s reps but did not hear back by the time of publication.

There are certainly no blank spaces in this powerhouse’s schedule. Aside from performing two to three shows every weekend for the last four months and recently releasing Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), she is also reportedly set to make her feature directorial debut with her own original script.

While it’s unclear when she’ll have time to direct a film seeing as she extended the Eras Tour through August 2024, Searchlight Pictures — the studio behind the project — seemingly confirmed the news to Variety last year.

“Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller,” Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a joint statement. “It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

It’s certainly not Swift’s first rodeo when it comes to directing. She took on the job for several of her music videos, including her most recent video for “I Can See You” — a vault track from “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” that starred her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner and “Mean” music video star Joey King. The songstress also won the 2022 VMAs for Best Direction and Video of Year for All Too Well: The Short Film.

During Variety‘s Directors on Directors 2022 interview series, Swift revealed she’s “inching [her] way along toward taking on more responsibility” when it comes to directing.

“Every aspect of my job as a singer has affected the way that I am as a director,” she said at the time. “I definitely feel more free to create now. And I’m making more albums at a more rapid pace than I ever did before, because I think the more art you create, hopefully the less pressure you put on yourself.”
