The White Lotus creator Mike White recently revealed that the idea of Jennifer Coolidge starring as a younger Tanya McQuoid has been talked about.

The HBO anthology series has been set in a different location each season and focuses on a new cast of characters.

Coolidge starred as Tanya McQuoid in both the first and second season, but (SPOILER ALERT!) given what happens with the character at the end of Season 2, it’s not likely she’ll appear in Season 3.

According to Deadline, however, White and Coolidge addressed the possibility of collaborating again on the hit HBO series during a press conference in Sydney, Australia.

When asked specifically about a prequel season with Coolidge returning as Tanya, White gave a somewhat hopeful response, sharing that he’s even had some talks about the concept already.

“I absolutely think that’s possible, we were just talking about that,” said White, teasing how de-aging technology could be utilized in production. “It’s a funny idea. And making Jennifer, you know, 20 years younger, that would be fun too. I think Jennifer’s like, ‘Sure, let’s do it!’”

Asked for her pick on where the prequel season could be set, Coolidge responded, “Australia gets my vote.”

White agreed that Australia was another good location for the show, adding that he’d ideally like to have a season set in each of the seven continents.

“My dream would be to hit every continent, so yeah, this is like its own continent, basically,” White says. “We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously, there’s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes.”

Production on Season 3 of The White Lotus, which will be set in Thailand, has already begin. Natasha Rothwell will reprise her Season 1 role as Belinda. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
