Citadel Episode 4 “Tell Her Everything” toggles back in time to reveal the Prime Video show’s darkest twist yet. At the end of last week’s episode, Bernard (Stanley Tucci) revealed to Manticore agent Anders Silje (Roland Møller) that his beloved “Brielle” was still alive. And that she was now known as Abby Conroy (Ashleigh Cummings), aka Mason Kane’s (Richard Madden) wife. The implication was that Abby was really Brielle, yet another calculating power player in this twisty spy thriller.

However this week’s all-new episode of Citadel reveals that Brielle was in fact the cover for a Citadel spy named Celeste Graham and that Mason Kane purposely schemed to strip Celeste of her memory to cover for Nadia (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), Mason’s lover, whom he suspected was actually a mole.

Did you get all that? Did the Abby, aka Brielle, aka Celeste reveals on Citadel make sense to you?

Here’s what you need to know about Abby Conroy, née Celeste Graham on Prime Video’s Citadel

Who is Abby Conroy on Citadel?

In the first episode of Citadel, we learn that super spy Mason Kane lost his memory after a mission went horribly awry. A rival team from the evil organization known as Manticore laid a trap for Mason and his partner Nadia Sinh. While Nadia embarked on her own wild journey of survival, a banged up Mason was picked up by some medical professionals. He was identified as “Kyle Conroy,” one of Mason’s alter egos, and placed in a special program designed to help amnesiacs recover their memories. There he met and fell in love with Abigail “Abby” Lenahan, a woman also struggling to remember her past.

Abby and Kyle have eight happy years living in an idyllic farmhouse in Oregon. They have a cute kid named Hendrix and life is good. However everything changes when a therapist encourages Kyle to try once more to find long-lost relatives via blood test. This time, Citadel agent Bernard Orlick picks up on Mason Kane’s new identity and location.

Bernard “kidnaps” Kyle, Abby, and their daughter Hendrix (Caoilinn Springall) in order to protect them, as he figures if he caught wind of Mason’s existence, Manticore did, too. Kyle must rely on sporadic muscle memories of his time as Mason Kane to help Bernard on a daring mission against Manticore. Along the way, Bernard is shot and captured by Manticore, Mason reunites with former partner Nadia, and a “vial” containing Mason’s memories is shattered. Nadia is able to regain her memories, which is actually important to Abby/Brielle/Celeste’s story…

What is Abby’s Real Name on Citadel? Brielle or Celeste?

We learn in Citadel Episode 3 “Infinite Shadows” that Manticore baddie Anders Silje loved a woman named Brielle. Bernard bargains for his life by revealing that Brielle is still alive…and she’s Abby Conroy.

However there’s another twist. Abby’s real name was actually Celeste Graham. She was a close friend of Nadia’s at Citadel and promoted to a dangerous role on Alpha Team ten years before the events that are unfolding in the main Citadel timeline. Mason advises Celeste on how to go deep undercover to get close to Anders in an attempt to learn information about a devastating piece of tech he’s working on.

When Celeste fails to check in with Mason for a months, he panics. Assuming she’s hurt, he authorizes a mission to extricate her. It’s a disaster, killing agents in the process. Worse, because Celeste was in the process of trying to steal the Oz-Key (Os-key?), she was both made by Ander’s twin Davik (Roland Møller) and put in a position where she lost the real tech. Mason assumes that she’s a turncoat, trying to sell the Oz-Key on the black market to save her brother’s life. Nadia argues for her friend. In the end, Mason authorizes an unsanctioned “backstop” procedure to strip Celeste of her memories. He destroys her backup vial and places her in Oregon as Abigal Lenehan.

After this goes down, fellow agent Carter Spence (Osy Ikhile) confronts Mason, revealing he knows about a secret transmission Mason received about the Oz-Key. The implication is that Mason is worried that Nadia, whom he loves, is the real mole. If Citadel investigates Celeste’s claim, it could out Nadia. He ruined Celeste’s life to save Nadia.

The horrific irony, now, is that Mason and Celeste have been married for eight years, enjoying a life that Mason doesn’t even remember orchestrating for her. Also Nadia and Carter and Bernard might know the truth about what went down between Mason and Celeste, but without their memory vials, they only know each other as Kyle and Abby. Also! Anders has no idea Brielle was really Celeste. He’ll just want his love back.

Who has the Oz-Key? Will Abby learn what Mason did to her? Was Nadia the mole?

Citadel Episode 5 will premiere on Friday, May 19 on Prime Video.
